So I started the regimen exactly a week ago. The first two days I used a BP lotion and then switched to a gel once I got it from Amazon. Here's what I'm using:
Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Wash
Claror Acne Treatment 2.5% BP Gel
Alba Even Advanced Natural Moisturizer Sea Moss w/ SPF 15
The first few days I only used the BP at night and then without even thinking I began using it in the morning but I'm starting to regret this and might go back down to once a day until my skin becomes more accustomed to it. However, I have already started to see some great results. Both my cheeks started off really red and I had pimples just under the surface that we're about to come to a head, I had moderate acne. At first, I had a few very small white heads appear on my left side but by the third day they we're already starting to disappear and the pimples on that side of my face we're beginning to fade not to mention I was already seeing the redness in my face fade as well. Though the white heads had faded and my redness were fading I did get a sizable pimple on my forehead that third day and after waiting two days I decided to pop it but it has almost healed completely and will hopefully be a faded mark in a few days, if that.
I wish I had taken pictures before I started because now only a week later my face already looks dramatically better. Make no mistake I still have redness and I have a pimple coming to a head on the right side of my face and a few that might flame up on my left but my face is getting better and the old acne/scars are in the beginning stages of healing.
The only issue I'm having right now is that the BP is starting to sting my face more when I put it on but what's more painful is how bad my face stings when I put my moisturizer on it after it... It could be that I'm getting lazy and not waiting long enough in between each step so I'm going to be more particular and make sure I'm waiting the whole 15 minutes and also go back to using the BP just at night. It could also be that I need to get a better moisturizer at night since my face has been a bit sore from the dryness lately. In the next week or two I'm going to get some jojoba oil and see if that helps and once I make it to the month mark I'll reward myself with the AHA+ as well.
Also just a few other notes I wanted to include is that I've only put on makeup once since I started and that was the first time I really saw how flaky my face was. I try not to wear makeup so that my face has the chance to really heal but unfortunately I just started work this summer which means I have to start keeping up appearances. Also I'm a 18 year old female who really didn't have much if any trouble with acne in high school besides a lone pimple that popped up here and there. It wasn't until last summer that I really began to break out and I've been struggling to fight it off since though in all honesty I hadn't been too diligent about it. Once I'd had it for about a year and my mom started going off about me making an appointment to see a dermatologist about my "adult acne" I decided it was time to do something/prove to my mom it really wasn't that bad. Luckily, she's noticed the improvement in my face just as much as I have this first week so, hah, no dermatologist for me as long as this regimen keeps working!
Anyway, thanks for reading and I'll try to post daily from here on out starting with day 8 tomorrow!
