About myself:

25 years old

Asian Male

Been breaking out since middle school

Severe break out when I was 18 and then again when I was 20

Went on Accutane twice but did not complete second course due to liver levels

Tried everything from: Proactiv, Oxy, Clearasil, Dans Regimen, Retin-A, Doxyclycline, Tazorac gel+cream, acanya, you name it.

Skin texture: dry and oily so I have to blot mid-day

Picking: I used to pick at my skin so I do have indents. I've been better.

Scarring: I scar easily, even when I don't pick at my skin.

Well I've been using Dans Regimen of the past three months now and last week I just broke up with about three big cysts on my face. I've decided to incorporate Tazorac along with Dans Regimen to see how it is.

My routine:

In the AM:

Dans BP Face Wash

Wait 15 mins and apply Dans BP

Wait 15 mins and apply moisturizer and Origins A Perfect World SPF 25

I use Clinique concealer on red spots but I want to find something better.

Once I get home, I use Philosophy's 1 step Cleanser to wash my face

If I have problem spots, I will spot treat with Kate Sommerville Eradikate

in the PM:

Dans BP Face Wash

Wait 15 mins

Apply Dans Moisturizer

Wait 15 mins

Apply Tazorac

I'm just fed up and hope that my skin is better. I'm 25...

My skin has been really red recently even before I started the tazorac. I almost want to stop using BP altogether and see what will happen. Its like a sunburn type of red and it makes my skin look blotchy and irritated. I'll post pictures later. My skin also has a burning sensation.

No new pimples today. Just the ones I still have. The one on my eyebrow seems to be going down and the ones near my forehead are slowly going away. The one near my ear turned black from bleeding (which I did not pick on-it just happened to pop on its own) Its still pretty bad to me though. I almost don't even want to go out but I have work.

I've been trying to sleep earlier to. I usually sleep between 1am-2am and wake up around 8-9am. Yesterday I went to bed at 11 thinking I would fall asleep..WRONG. I ended up tossing and turning until 2am -_-. I have bad insomnia and it doesn't help that its been so hot lately, I'l try again tonight to go to bed earlier and HOPE that I'll fall asleep.

Also wanted to write that I change my pillows every other day. I feel that it helps in preventing new breakouts.

My skin was REALLY red/sunburn looking. I decided to spot treat instead and slathered on Cerave lotion all over my face. I spot treated my three cystic acne with taxorac. They are going down but very slowly. The redness actually make my skin look a lot worse. This morning when I woke up, I was still red but not as bad. This morning I decided not to use BP as well except for the BP wash and put on sunscreen. BLEH.

I started using tazorc again last night. Instead of using a pea size, I decided to use less than that so I wouldn't get the same buring reaction. I also switched from using Dan's moisturizer to Ceave instead. My right side of the face is improving. No new pimples there. But I do have a pimple that is forming on the left side--which I kinda knew would form because it was small for the past few days. Do you guys get that as well?

I'm also not going to use Dan's BP in the morning for now so that my skin can adjust to the tazorac. But I am still using the BP wash day and night, which I thnk is helping a lot. Will post pictures soon.

I think you're using way too many harsh chemicals on your skin.

What about just using a mild cleanser in the mornings and afterwards moisturize.

At night use the same mild cleanser and let your skin dry. Then use Tazorac (let it dry for about 30-60 min) and moisturize.

(I am using the European version of Tazorac, Epiduo myself).
