Are there light patches as well as dark spots ? Are you using a product with resorcinol in it ??

The light areas are probably caused by malasezzia which is a fungus. Malasezzia outbreaks are caused by taking antibiotics. Find a dermatologist who understands fungal conditions. Are you taking antibiotics ? If so, I would stop taking antibiotics IF you are ONLY taking them for acne, (and not for any other purpose) but seek advice from a dermatologist who understands fungal conditions about this.

Malasezzia can cause dark spots (in my experience) as well as skin lightening - vitiligo - which is well documented. Apply a topical antifungal cream to the affected areas. Start with clotrimazole cream and see how you go.

Do you have dandruff Do you have a white tongue ? Have you taken, or are you taking antibiotics ?

Malasezzia and candida cause acne-like conditions but they are not acne - outbreaks of malasezzia and candida are caused by taking antibiotics (and/or birth contro pills and/or prednisone and/or some othe meds). If you have dandruff, flaking skin and/or a white tongue, then the condition is most likely caused by fungi, NOT by bacteria.

The acne will get worse and worse if you are taking antibiotics, and if you continue to take antibiotics and if the condition is caused by fungus, not by bacteria.other meds.
