Hey guys. I had bad body acne when I was younger and now I'm 22 and it is gone. As a result I have slightly raised bumps in the middle of my chest and on my back called follicular macular atrophy. I've been looking into treatment and haven't really found anything that is guaranteed to work. A lot of people have said that fraxel laser would be worth a try, but I don't want to spend that kind of money unless there's improvement. I've read that derma-rolling or abrading with a pumice stone can be effective while using copper peptides and emu oil. Has anyone had any form of treatment for and did it work?

Thanks,

Ian

Hi Ian,

Sorry for the disappointing message but I have the same problem and haven't tried anything yet (other than naively thinking I could get rid of it with chemical peels etc., don't bother) but am also desperate to hear from anyone who has! There is so little information out there on this condition it's frustrating. Please could anyone who has had any treatment for body acne scars share their experiences!

See a provious post about treatment using a hyfrecator.

My thinking is if the scars are numerous, which they are in my case, this may not be the best option.

I intend to try a CO2 laser once I finish accutane.
