So at age 17 I started getting bad cystic acne on my back, chest, some face and head, and waist area.
I got on acutane at age 20 and it clears up in about 4 months. Not 100% though and im 26 now. I still get cysts on the lower back of my head, some waist area(one on each side of my waist area above the groin). I usually open them if they surface and drain them. Blood, puss, and black blood comes out. I drain them a few times and they will clear up for a few weeks and then come back. I have one that rarely comes on the back of my head at the hairline and it is about the size of a quarter. This one rarely surfaces and is painful enough to where I don't want to get a haircut. What can I do besides going back to a specialist? I'd really love to have this cleared up completely. I'm scarred up from it and the reoccurring ones are a pain.
Anyone else have this problem?
does this issue occur around specific hair shafts? That is, it starts like an ingrown hair and then progressively worsens?
the situation you described can have many causes, some directly attributable to hormonal acne, while other reasons come from a little farther afield. I'm just struggling to picture it at the moment.
