Hi everyone. I updated the forums to the latest version. You'll notice a few new things here and there. If you find bugs or have suggestions, please let me know!
I haven't visited for a long while, so I'm unsure whether the following are recent changes or have been there for a while.
1. Have a lot of the old posts been deleted? I notice when I look back at my post history, my earlier messages are not there.
2. I was going to link someone to my gallery photos, but it looks like the gallery has been deleted, or is there a secret link somewhere?
3. I noticed that my uploaded avatar was still showing in the top right corner of the forums, but had reverted to a human bean in the forum posts. I tried uploading it again, but get the message "There was a problem cropping your profile photo.". I reduced the image to 200 X 200 pixels taking up just 16kB, but still get same error message. The avatar in the top right corner also then showed as a human bean. So I tried using the recycle option. I thought that was going to work, but that now just shows the top left corner of the avatar, not the whole thing.
4. When a member reacts/likes a post, their username is shown 3 times.
5. There's no indication to show which threads/posts I have already seen compared to those which I haven't. All other forums I'm a member of show which threads have new posts since my last visit. Having said that, this forum doesn't have a "mark all posts as read" option anyway, which is something else all other forums have.
Thanks for quick reply. I thought the thread hadn't had any new replies. I didn't realise that I had to manually subscribe to the thread to get email notification.
It's a shame that the gallery has been deleted. It was helpful to actually prove how certain products/diets worked. I was going to send a link to a friend suffering with acne, to show him how my regimen cleared up my acne in 8 weeks which I had chronicled on my gallery page.
Sorry about the Gallery thing. It wasn't being used anymore and was kinda a forgotten thing on the site. So, when I did a forum upgrade a few years back, it was going to be a major undertaking to move it over, and no one was using it, so I let everyone know it was going away and then deleted it.
As far as glycolic acid goes, my suggestion until I can get mine back in stock is to buy from the biggest brand name you can. It's really sensitive making products with glycolic acid and you need to be super sure to keep the pH perfect, add it at the right time, etc. etc. I have a feeling that's why so many glycolic acid products don't seem to work.
But, larger brand names are more likely to not mess things up I would think. Then again, they are also more likely to settle on a higher pH so it's more for a "broad market" which can mean it's not as strong. When you use it, you should feel a sting. Nothing super crazy, but you should feel it working.
