How To Edit Topic Titles?

I mispelled a word in a new topic I started here

Could someone delete the "m" at the end? It would be great if we could edit titles ourselves after a topic gets posted, especially if the topic gets updated/ resolved (I know there's a button for that, but still), if photos get added, etc.

I totally agree! Never understood why this was a "Mod only" thing. If members can edit the content, why not the title, too?

WishClean, I've edited the title! :)

I totally agree, members should have the ability to edit their topics' titles as well as the content! Never understood why only the Mods could make these changes.

great, thank you!

Editing titles ourselves could also help with finding old threads...I have some old threads that are no longer relevant, and it would be good to edit the title for those.

Can someone edit this topic's title to add *pics added* ? I need some feedback, and I think it's more likely now that I added some pics to my thread.

We should be able to edit topic titles, it would make things less complicated.

Hi! I went ahead and edited for you. Editing topics is part of the topic moderation tool-kit (along with deleting, pinning, locking, etc.) available only to moderators. We would need to separate out the option to edit titles from the moderators topic-moderation kit like we have with the post-editor in order to give members the ability to edit their titles. I am not sure how easy this is from an administrator stand point.

I agree that members should be given the ability to edit their own topic titles without going through the moderating team. I'm sure Admin could make this happen! :)

No, I don't think so. Site watchers currently do not have the ability to edit titles. I am going to go ahead and open up a topic in the sitewatcher forum, so we can go ahead and continue the discussion there. Thanks!

Ok - I have now copied this topic over to the sitewatch forum to discuss. Let's continue the discussion on problem solving the issue there, and update here when we have a solution. Thanks!
