Hi everyone.
I'm on my 6th day of the regimen but feel terrible
because my face is unbelievably dry and my right cheek is red and itchy.
I have very difficult skin to deal with ..
It's very dry in general - but may become less dry sometimes - it's very sensitive and may react to many things, it shows that reaction as excessive dryness, redness and slight itchiness.
I have acne since middle school, with very large pores in my cheeks and nose and blackheads as well. My acne had left scars (mostly icepickand hyperpigmentation).
I used to have a clear forehead but recently I got pimples there and blemishes.
I have atopic skin and my body was itchy due to chronic eczema for more than 14 years, but now it's almost gone.
I'm very frustrated because I have a bunch of problems to solve
I don't know whether it's a good choice to continue the regimen or not.
It's stated here that the regimen works for the most sensitive skin.. but I don't know if my skin would tolerate it or not. I'm afraid that it may compromise my skin's barrier which seems to be already broken
I'm really confused .. It's stated here also to use only acne.org products.. but I feel the moisturizer is never enough for me.
I'm using - in addition to acne.org moisturizer - Avene Xeracalm cream to calm my red, itchy cheek, but not sure if this is a good idea, as they recommend to stick with their products..
I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks
Hi Ammola,
I'm sorry to hear about yor skin.
Our best advice is that you stop using the Treatment temporarily until your skin goes back to normal. Once your skin is calm begin using all three products but start SLOWLY using only a very small pea sized amount of Acne.org Treatment only once per day for a full week. By week two you may start applying the pea sized amount twice a day. In week three you can begin increasing the dose SLOWLY and by the end of week four you should be using the full 4ML dose of Acne.org Treatment.
If you are using only the Acne.org products and following the instructions exactly and you still have dry flaky skin. You can do two things.
1. Use more Acne.org Moisturizer (you cant use too much). Feel free to apply it through the day as needed to keep your skin soft and hydrated.
2. Add 5-6 drops of Acne.org Organic Jojoba Oil into the palm of your hand and mix it with the Acne.org Moisturizer before applying it each morning. At night you can add even more (as many drops as you want).
The Acne.org Moisturizer is designed to calm and heal the skin and return it to its natural balance. The Acne.org Jojoba oil is almost identical to the natural oils of the skin. By using both of these products in conjunction on a daily basis you should see calmer, more hydrated healthier looking skin very soon.
I had dry skin before starting the regimen too so the BP only made it worse. The solution is to apply moisturiser BEFORE the BP. So cleanse, moisturise (I use jojoba oil at night, and Aveeno lotion during the day), BP, then moisturise again if need be (I use Cetaphil cream).
My dryness and flaking was very manageable this way, and my skin still cleared up.
Also recommend an application of jojoba oil when you first wake up. Apply and leave for at least 15-20 mins, massage with your fingers to help remove any flaky bits (if lots of flakes you can wipe them away with a tissue), then cleanse etc as usual.
This is what's worked for me.
Honestly, unfortunately the acne.org products made my acne worse somehow. I had really high hopes for them. I'm sorry you're experiencing difficulties. That being said.....you're only on day 6. I gave acne.org a full 4 months before I gave up on it. The products I use now I've been on for a full 7 months and my acne has cleared completely. Good luck <3
