Question about when to introduce the AHA to my routine

Hey there,

I've been using the Regimen for about 3 weeks regularly. I only use it at night for now, because I have very sensitive skin that is still flaking, peeling and red. I ordered the AHA moisturizer product, and have read that you can introduce it into the Regimen after about 1 month.

My question is this. Should I wait until my skin's reaction to the BP (redness, flaking, dryness) have subsided completely before introducing the AHA moisturizer? I am concerned that trying to introduce it before my irritation has gone away... might further irritate my skin.

I think that it may take a couple of months before I am able to use the Regimen twice a day. My skin seems to be getting used to the BP and I use judicious amounts of the Regimen moisturizer, but for now I am just using the moisturizer during the day and following the precise steps at night of washing, BP, and moisturizer. I would love to introduce the AHA as soon as possible since I've read so many good things about it. I just don't want to irritate my skin.

Thank you for your help mods <3

Jess

Hi Jess,

If you are month month into The Regimen, it is ok for you to use the Acne.org AHA+. It should help with the flakiness since it exfoliates your skin faster than it could flake off.

You may mix equal parts of the Acne.org Moisturizer and AHA+ on the palm of your hand and then apply the mixture on your skin once a day, every day to help with the dryness.
