Hey guys,
So I'm thinking of finally trying jojoba oil for my dry skin. It's gotten so dry that it's almost unbearable to put the benzoyl peroxide on, and the skin flakes are spreading and they're huge and it just looks so bad. My skin is scaly even if I wet it now. I've tried countless moisturizers, even Dan's, and nothing stops the flakes except Cetaphil's moisturizer, which broke me out after one use. I have extremely intolerant skin and get clogged pores from pretty much every drugstore moisturizer, so the one I use is from La-Roche Posay, but it does not moisturize nearly enough, no matter how much I use. I was just wondering if anyone had any issues or bad experiences when adding jojoba oil to their moisturizer, like breakouts? I feel like this is my last resort. I don't want to go back to acne, but I think my dry skin problem is almost becoming worse than having acne. What's the next step if jojoba oil does break me out?
Hi lawrence1,
The Acne.org Jojoba Oil closely matches the oil on your skin so it will not clog your pores nor cause any break outs. With regards to the dryness, we would recommend that you apply the Acne.org Moisturizer as often as needed or more than twice a day to help with the dryness. You may also add 5-6 drops of the Jojoba Oil to the Moisturizer for additional Moisture.
I find Jojoba oil an invaluable necessity with this regimen. It has helped clear my skin further as it's not as dry and irritated. Also, it helps your moisturizer to last longer when you add it to it. I add about 8 drops at the moment, when my skin is more tolerant to the BP I may be able to reduce this.
Good luck
