Hello, I have been using the acne.org regimen for a little over a year and I recently had to stop because my face randomly started getting super red , dry and irritated from using the Acne.org cleanser. The BP and moisturizer make it more red but are not the root of the problem (I went a week without using a cleanser and only using BP and the moisturizer twice a day with no redness). It came on very randomly right after christmas. I've tried a few different cleansers and even the most gentle ones seem to irritate my face.
Here are the two cleansers I've tried so far. -Paula's Choice Calm Redness Relief Cleanser -Garnier: The Gentle Sulfate-Free Cleanser
I was convinced atleast one of these would work considering theres not even any sulfates in one. The Garnier cleanser doesn't irritate my face as badly but I can only use it once a day and a very small amount to stop the redness and irritation. I am still using the acne.org moisturizer which makes my face even more red after applying BP 2.5%. My current routine is as follows:
A.M: - Take a cold shower to reduce redness from the prior night. (cold showers are the only thing stopping me from being extremely dry and red. And I absolutely hate them) - Immediately apply Acne.org Moisturizer all over face (a lot)
P.M: - Cleanse with current cleanser ( currently still using very small amount of Garnier: The Gentle Sulfate-Free Cleanser ) - Apply HUGE amount of BP 2.5% or else I break out TERRIBLY - Go to bed feeling like shit cause of my skin.
I'm going to try to get a derm to look at my skin cause I have no idea why it has become so irritated and sensitive. If anyone could shed some light and find me a cleanser and moisturizer that I can use A.M and P.M without my face becoming severely dry , red and irritated, that would be a miracle. I have the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser here that I just bought but I'm scared to use it because the ingredients say it has alcohol and sulfates in it. If it helps I'm an 18 year old male.
- Gonna go ahead and buy Eau Thermale Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser Lotion, 6.76 fl. oz. Hopefully it works!

Could it be that I am over using benzoyl peroxide? I'm gonna try not using so much. I read that I might need to give my skin time to heal. The worst part of the redness is right around my mouth and below my nose. But my entire face can get red at times but mostly that area. Ugh, so painful going from awful skin to clear skin and then back to awful skin again after a year of freedom.. Had to give up bodybuilding and everything and I'm still breaking out. Very stressful times..
