Going back onto the regimen again. Advice?

Hey Guys! I'm about to go back onto the regimen again after trying to go off of it for a few months and I wanted to see if anyone else had done the same thing and had some advice? I went on it for about 1.5 years and it worked great for me. My acne was pretty mild but it cleared up completely within like 3 weeks and my skin was almost always clear. I went off of the regimen like 6 months ago because I wanted to try new things and because the BP was getting a little too dry for me. My acne has come back since I went off of the regimen and I'm pretty sure it's always been hormonal, but I want to go back on the regimen while I try to figure out my hormonal imbalance. I'm just wondering if anyone else has  gone back onto the regimen after taking a break? Did it work the same the second time or did your skin get used to it and not respond as well the second time? Also if anyone has some advice for hormonal acne around the mouth, chin, and jaw I would love to hear it!! Hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving week! :)

Hey! I did gooff the regimen for some time and then went back because my acne was getting worse. I almost exclusively break out around my jaw aswell (although I'm a guy).

Going back, the main issue was that it tookwaaaaaaay longer for my skin to tolerate the BP thesecond time around. The irritation and redness didn't go away until I was like 6 months in (the first time took maybe 1). I don't know why, but someone's theory was that maybe my natural moister barrier was fucked from all the stuff that went in my skin in between regimes (erythromycin, mostly) and that's why it was taking longer to adapt. Harsh redness and irritation also meant that I couldn't put too much BP on my face, therefore it also took longer for the regimen to work overall.

My skin is very sensitive and the mildest irritation is also very noticable because I'm very pale, so that may not be an issue with other people. That being said, my advice would be to keep in mind that this might happen to you, so don't get alarmed because it will work again eventually (it did for me, I'm fine now).

Also, I know girls whose hormonal acne dissapeared when they got on birth control, so you could check that option too.

Good luck!
