Prescription or Regimen ?

Hi there,
I have been on the regimen for 2 weeks exactly. With the treatment my skin has become really red and flaky, but tons of closed comedones disappeared.
So I went today for the first time to a dermatologist. It was not a pleasing experience. He told me that my skin texture looks really bad and he doesn't know about the regimen. He prescribed me an oral medication, a hydrating cream that I should use and told me that I should completely stop the regimen.
What should I do ? Should I continue the regimen or buy what the dermatologist prescribed ?
Thank you !

I was kind of in that situation with my son, so I know what you're talking about. In our case, we opted to keep doing the Regimen, and the oral med at the same time. He was prescribed minocycline, so I knew this wouldn't cause additional dryness, and the dual approach worked beautifully. Killing bacteria from the inside out helped things clear up even faster, and supported the BP treatment. If the oral med is Accutane, I wouldn't recommend this dual approach, since you're apt to experience extremely uncomfortable dryness and redness. It just depends on what they prescribed for you. Hope this makes sense!
