Hey...

So I started my own mini-version of the regimine on the 7th with Epiduo once a day instead of the BP twice, and cetaphil moisturiser and cleanser. I have extremely sensitive skin... it's red, irritated, dry and acne-prone.

So first day all good...second day, started stinging when I applied the Epiduo and then the moisturiser. The next day (the 9th) when I applied the moisturiser it stung even more, so I laid off the epiduo since then (this being the third night). However...it's still stinging and red raw! When I put on the moisturiser it just gets very intense, and my skin is very red and blotchy and irritated...

Now looking at the regimen reviews and epiduo reviews it seems like this is normal...but I'm not sure where to go from here! My skin is so sensitive is it possible that I just can't use the regimin or epiduo or anything at all? Or should I just leave it off for a week and start again at a very small amount, maybe once every two days?

Also...should I moisturise the red irritated bits even though it hurts,or leave it? My skin is dry, tight and raw - but I'm not sure if the moisturiser is helping or hindering as that's what's causing a lot of the discomfort!

I experienced this exact same thing. Applying epiduo stung so bad my eyes would water sometimes! You def need to give your skin a little break and start applying every other night instead. I was stubborn and literally the whole top half of my forehead scaled and peeled.... it was bad. Also I applied moisturizer before I applied epiduo as recommended by my derm, to calm the stinging sensation. Best wishes! But yes this is normal.

Thanks so so much Tanebabe. I've stopped using the epiduo for three nights and tonight will be my fourth without. My skin is very dry and blotchy still, and I find that moisturizer REALLY makes me burn or itch. I'm assuming it's my skin being so insanely dry and damaged from me not moisturising for ... well... ever. I'm currently sitting here with moisturizer and a thin layer of aquaphor over the top in the hopes my skin will repair itself. I'll ease myself back into epiduo next week depending on how my skin responds.
