Hi guys
i'm kinda semi-starting the routine on my own. Only difference is instead of using bp twice, I am using Epiduo once.
my routine will be something like this:
am:
cetaphil face wash
cetaphil moisturizer
pm:
cetaphil face wash
epiduo
(cetaphil moisturizer)
i guess my biggest concern is the moisturizer... I find that moisturizers tend to make me feel rather sluggish and greasy, and more often than not I break out. However... Perhaps the epiduo will counteract this? I guess i'm scared. In the past i've never used a moisturizer, due to being worried of breaking out. My skin always tends to react better when it's dry. How important is the use of a moisturizer for you guys? And should I use my moisturizer in the evening as well or just leave the epiduo to it
Hey!! So I used Epiduo Forte (slightly stronger version) for a lil over a month before I started Accutane, and I'm in the same boat as you. I really don't like moisturizing. Even now on day 23 of Accutane I barely do it. However, I couldn't get away with that on Epiduo, so what I did was put on my moisturizer BEFORE I applied the Epiduo, only using both the moisture and topical at night. I use half aloe vera and half oil-free moisturizer (Neutrogena) and while it's still moist, apply my Epiduo. It kept the redness away but this routine really worked for my skin. I cleared up almost completely after a few weeks. This method was actually recommended by a dermatologist to me, and I think it worked so well because my skin was still supple from the moisture so the medicine really absorbed in my pores while avoiding the irritation that causes more acne/an initial breakout. Maybe something to try? Either way, I think you chose a great topical!
Cetaphil is not at all my favorite moisturizer to use in the day. Unless you live in frigid temperatures I would go for something that is still moisturizing but not heavy and greasy on the face. I highly recommend Cerave if your skin agrees with it. And I would leave the Cetaphil for a night time application.
