Unless you have severe, widespread, and scarring acne, The Regimen is normally my suggestion for the most effective acne treatment.

Regimen and Retin A?

So I have severe, and I mean SEVERE post inflammatory hyper pigmentation, coupled with some light to mild acne. I'll get a few zits once in a while, I currently have about three right now that are somewhat red but not that much.

My derma prescribed Retin-A .05% strength to apply every night to fade the PIH. I decided to also purchase Dan's regimen just because all three products are made from the same person and I figured that would be a better bet than what I was currently using (oil-free neutrogena moisturizer, kaiser benzoyl peroxide gel, and Le Mieux exfoliating gel which can be somewhat irritating).

Can someone tell me what the best way to combine both of these? I really want to use the Retin-A so that my spots can fade (of course I don't expect major results until maybe four months in just like Dan's regimen). I also MUST use a sunscreen, so I have Elta MD SPF 40 meant for oily to normal skin, which is what I have.

Thanks!

I would suggest not incorporating the retin-a till your skin has adjusted to Dan's regimen. I know are using BP already. but just as a precaution maybe hold of for a bit. Once your skin has settled, use the retin-a only at night and apply spf in the AM.

I used Dan's AHA to help with my hyperpigmentation and it worked really well incorporated in the regimen. I hope the retin-a does the same for you. I would apply the AHA BEFORE my BP cause I felt it did a lot more fading applied before than after the treatment.
