Okay so I just purchased the Acne.org Regimen because I saw sooo many good reviews. I have had acne since I was in 7th grade and now I'm a sophomore in high school. I totally thought the acne would just go away over the past couple of years but it has only gotten worse and now I'm also very oily. I begged my mom to take me to a dermo because I thought they would just give me a magical pill and it would all go away. They put me on this very low dosage of medication, some adapalene gel, and some sulfur based cleanser. I used it for about 6 months but I still had bad acne and on top of it the medication made my face extremely red so I stopped using it. Then I just started using this Biore blackhead scrub as kind of my entire regimen and it really worked for a while but now my acne is back and looks the worst it has been in weeks. The acne.org regimen is on its way to my house but I am scared to try it. I have heard some bad things about how it makes your face very red and flaky but other times very oily and shiny. Should I still give it a chance?
The only way you know is if you try. You will likely get red, dry, flaky maybe but you have to take baby steps with it so those effects aren't so extreme and make any sort of adjustments you feel are necessary (example: using a thicker moisturizer at night, etc). Wish you luck and let us know how it goes!
I suggest really following the instructions to a T. This is very important so it can give you the best possible chance to get clear. Also, before starting, you need to understand that this isn't a one and done thing, The Regimen is really a process you need to maintain and initially there will be good days and bad days so really manage your expectations and read up on the instructions carefully.
Yes, you should give it a try. Don't focus on the bad things you hear there will always be negative reviews for everything in the world just look at the overall average review and you can see most are positive. A few tips 1# start off using it once a day at night every other day for a week or two to see how your skin responds. If things are going well up to every night and if you want you can try twice a day as they recommend but personally I don't like having extra stuff on my skin during the day so I just use it at night. Avoid getting it too close to your eyes, nose and mouth as your skin is thinnest in those areas and more likely to get irritated. Follow the instructions and use a good non-comedogenic moisturizer over top after the BP has dried. Like most acne treatments it does take a while to see the full effects. Best of luck to you!
