Hi,
During the acne.org regimen, how are you supposed to remove your makeup?
I'm currently on lymecycline antibiotics and adapalene and using jojoba oil and cotton wool to remove eye makeup but am worried about removing my foundation with the same as don't want to irritate it. However, don't feel like 10seconds gentle cleansing is enough to remove my foundation? Or is it? I use bare minerals so it is non comedogenic.
Thanks
I know this isnt part of the regimin. But I am currently using witch hazel on a cotton ball after washing with the cleanser and before the BP. So much makeup is on each cotton ball!!! I feel like this has been the final step of making my skin clear. I realize that there was makeup left on my chin and hairline and lo and behold, thats where most of my breakouts were occuring. So my steps are, cleanse, witch hazel on cotton ball, repeating until the cotton ball becomes clear, let dry, apply BP, apply either moisture lotion or AHA. (I only use AHA every 3 days) I just started using the witch hazel about 5 days ago and it seems to be clearing up the rest of my breakout and definitely hasn't given me any extra breakouts. Just my experience.
BTW I also switche to Bare Minerals and it has been pretty good so far! It definitely is not clogging my pores as much as my old foundation! But...I don't love how it looks. Do you? To me it looks kinda dry and and the coverage isn't there. Oh well.
Thanks for your response, I feel the same, because my skin is dry, the makeup sticks to it and doesn't come off easily. I will try this with my jojoba oil and just be as gentle as possible. Which bare minerals foundation do you use? Is it powder? Mine is the new liquid foundation and I much prefer it for a more natural, dewy look
I change it up a little bit for my night time regimen and do the 10 second washing twice. So 10 seconds, rinse well with lukewarm water, and repeat another 10 seconds. I only wear light mineral makeup at most, but I have done it for liquid foundation too and it seemed to come off. Hope it works for you!
Hello,
I had the same problem when I started. What I do is apply some warm water. Then put about a quarter size of the Jobaja Oil and apply it like i would the cleanser. Very gentley to my whole face. Kinda like washing with the oil. I then rinse it off and apply the cleanser. I has helped remoce my foundation and water proof mascara!
