Using Only Bp

Hi guys,

I've bought every product from Acne.org and tried all of them.

Its been near a year now and I've noticed some interesting results and would like to check with experienced users regarding if what I'm doing is a good idea or not.

Basically during the start I've only ever had mild acne and nothing major but I wanted perfect skin.

I followed the regime religiously and my face was red, patchy and flaking.

1-2 months down the track the side effects showed less and less.

Every so often, I'd get few small acne here and there and I've noticed the following;

My country is very humid, 98% humidity at times and when I went on vacation to a drier country my face cleared up on its own without the use of anything so I've found one of the biggest causes of my acne which seems to be humidity.

Now after this discovery, when I returned, I stopped using the moisturizer and only cleansed and applied 1 pump of BP twice a day. This pretty much resolved 95% of all my acne problems and had the best success rate.

However, I was worried that only cleansing and applying BP would be too harsh on my skin so I got AHA+ to try and help the regeneration of skin cells at night.

I noticed that the AHA+ burns my skin even more than the BP was so not sure if this is actually counter productive?

When I slowly added moisturizer back in, It would improve my chances of acne as statistically, I've had more random acne appear when I used moisturizer than without it.

Right now I have a pretty clear face but slightly tanned thanks to the BP and not the most even of skin tones (not too bad either) and I'm guessing drier as drier skin seems to be what stops acne for me.

My friend told me that she uses Origins facial masks and they were great to pamper your skin and get it soft and perfect looking, should I give the facial masks a try?

Should I stay on the moisturizer even though it seems to be causing random acne to appear every now and again?

Should I continue using AHA+ during the night? I feel a burn for sure and skin becomes more red and glossy looking like someone smacked me in the face but not bad after I wake up.

Any advice would be very appreciated!

Are you using straight AHA+ or are you mixing in a small amount with your moisturizer?

I'd try doing one pump of AHA+ and one pump of moisturizer mixed together. AHA+ is a powerful chemical exfoliator and can take awhile for some people to get used to when used by itself. Mixing in some moisturizer helps greatly reduce the stinging and redness. But once your skin adjusts to it, it can be a great addition to your Acne.Org Regimen as it sloughs off dead skin and helps red marks and blemishes fade faster. AHA+ does contain some moisturizer but not enough IMO. The product in essence gives you a mild chemical peel so you'll notice an increase in dryness and flakes.

The products you are using are indeed harsh, you'll definitely want to moisturize to keep skin in balance. Maybe you just don't need as much given your climate, maybe just moisturize at night. And I wouldn't recommend adding any new non-Acne.Org products or steps unless you're 100% clear and have been that way for awhile. But if you'd like to try the product your friend recommends, that would be up to you.

Hope this helps answer some of your questions. Let me know if you have any more! :)

Thanks a lot DeLovely, your insight was very informative.

I was indeed using AHA without mixing it with moisturizer, now that I know AHA has moisturizer mixed in it already but possibly not enough, it gives me great confidence to mix the 2 together during application.

Regarding what you said about not adding in any non-Acne.Org products or steps unless I'm 100% clear and have been that way.

Is the use of Acne.Org products sufficient to getting perfect looking skin?

Its often tempting when I hear people recommend me products that Acne.Org does not offer like facial masks etc... To try and better my skin, if I simply stayed on Acne.Org products, would I be missing out on the advantages of other products like facial masks etc...?

Thanks in advance and looking forward to your insight.

I've found that AHA breaks me out. At least it seems to when used after applying BP.

I'm also interested in hearing if people tried using only BP with no cleanser and moisturizer. I find that it is the cleansing of the skin that irritates it the most. For instance, I have dry and painful to the touch parts of my neck where the cleanser foam inadvertently touches the skin. And it takes a lot of moisturizer to soothe that area even though no BP is applied there.

The AHA+ is the product that can take your skin from clear to perfect with continued use. The BP treatment will only clear acne but does nothing for red marks and PIH. My son has been using AHA+ for a few months and now you can hardly tell he had acne on his forehead, where his acne began last August. His cheeks broke out later and we still continue to battle both acne and PIH on his cheeks, and now most recently his back, but we are confident in the process and know he'll get there eventually.

Many people do incorporate other non-Acne.Org products either out of preference or for additional benefits but it's always recommended to hold off until you're 100% clear and have been clear for awhile. This way if you break out after weeks of clear skin shortly after introducing a new product or step, chances are it's the new product or step doing it. If you're not clear when you introduce new products/steps, it may be harder to tell what's aggravating your skin.

Hope this helps! :)
