Hey guys, so I have followed the regimen to the dot for two years now and it has kept me clear all throughout with the exception of the occasional whitehead every now and then, but no cysts or inflamed papules. Three weeks ago, I decided to reduce my BP dose since the BP still leaves my skin super dry.
I still use the two and a half pumps of BP on my entire face at night, but in the mornings I now only apply one pump of BP around my mouth and chin area since those areas are usually where I get the occasional whiteheads. As for the rest of my face, I leave untouched by BP in the mornings. The dryness greatly improved and I found my skin looking brighter and healthier looking overall. Furthermore, two weeks ago I started weight lifting 3 times a week and started taking whey protein and creatine loading daily. Other than that, my diet is the same except for a bit larger portions each meal.
Now the problem, over the past couple days I have broken out in 2 large inflamed papules and a prominent whitehead. But here's the kicker: they are ALL on my chin where I am still applying BP in the mornings! I suspected that I might breakout a bit more due to the decreased BP dose, but I did not expect to break out so heavily in the area that I was specifically still applying BP to just as much as before! The rest of my face is still crystal clear and it's just my chin that has been smacked by the acne stick.
Is it safer to assume that these breakouts were due to my recent muscle-building ventures or should I immediately return to my full BP dose? HELP
Hard to say what may be going on. But it doesn't sound like your Regimen changes are the culprit. I'd suspect possibly the whey protein. Many people on here have reported skin improvements when they eliminated dairy from their diet; you've reported worse skin after increasing dairy. Many threads on this topic. Might be worth researching. I'm not sure of the ramifications for weight-lifting, if this can cause hormonal fluctuations like increased testosterone. You'd have to research that, too.
Periodic breakouts can and do occur on the Regimen even for the most diligent of users. If things heal quickly (which they should), you should be OK.
Thanks for the input guys that really helps. I was not aware that whey protein is derived from dairy.
An update: I've stopped taking whey and creatine and have not had any further breakouts thus far. Hoping it stays that way!
Still on the reduced regimen dose and lifting just as much.
