I've been on the regimen for 3 days and I didn't have mug acne to begin with because I was using an acne face wash by spectro before. The spectro one dried out my skin and when I used a different moisturizer other than Cetaphil, the moisturizer in conjunction with the dryness made my skin really red, thick, itchy and slightly oozing (weeping)
I stopped using the spectro one and started using the regimen. Most of my face is fine, but my cheeks are super red, thick, oozing and slightly painful. I'm willing to put up with it if I know it will subside, but will it? Am I allergic? Is it fine to stop using BP on my cheeks until they get better and start again? I do have very sensitive skin, so much so that so many products make me itchy. That's why I'm committed to Cetaphil.
I think it's eczema that I have, but I'm not sure as my case doesn't look as bad as the pictures I see. I don't have blisters, just dryness and oozing.
Redness is normal but oozing is not. Could indicate an allergy. I'd definitely discontinue using the Regimen products until you've healed. Keep using the Cetaphil if this agrees with your skin. The moisturizer could be the culprit if you're allergic to the licorice root extract in Dan's moisturizer. But your skin could also be reacting to using a medicated cleanser along with the BP treatment. Never a good idea to combine treatments, very very harsh especially for those with sensitive skin. Let your skin calm down and then start over. Be sure you're only using a pea-size portion of BP to start and not rushing in...too much BP too fast can make skin angry. I'd also only use your Cetaphil moisturizer for the time being. If your skin is tolerating the cleanser and BP OK, then try just a dab of Dan's moisturizer on your jawline for a few days and see how your skin reacts. If the area gets weepy, you'll have your answer.
Dan will honor a refund on any unused products if you need to return them. Just contact IzzyTizzy (customer service rep).
Hope this helps. Good luck and let us know how you do!
Actually, the only acne.org product I use is the benzoyl peroxide, and I don't use the spectro cleanser with the regimen, I use a gentle Cetaphil cleanser.
I already had a reaction before I started the regimen, and I guess I got excited when the BP got delivered and I didn't give my skin time to recover before I started using it.
I'll wait for my skin to recover and maybe use the BP only once every other day.
I'm also wondering if using much less BP than is recommended will help keep my acne at bay? I usually have mild to moderate acne, and it's mostly tiny bumps.
I actually barely have acne right now because of BP treatments. I want to be relatively acne-free but not have to suffer with skin weeping.

Wow, thanks for clarifying those details, that really helps! That narrows it down and looks like BP may be the culprit. Weepy skin is not normal and could indicate an allergic reaction. But lets hope your skin just didn't like the BP treatment directly on the heels of the medicated acne cleanser.
So definitely give your skin time to recover and then start over. I'd start by only applying a super-thin layer of BP on a small part your jawline for a few days, see how your skin reacts. Just use like half a dab. If that area gets weepy, then you're probably allergic. But if your skin is tolerating the treatment, then try applying a pea-size amount to your face. I think applying once every other day is smart, great idea!

In the meantime, just keep using your Cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer.
