Hey, this is going to be my second attempt in trying the regimen (got lazy, didn't use it properly, ran out) so I have a few problems I've noticed with the regimen, the lotion doesn't absorb properly or fast enough after I'm done with the BP, it feels like it just sits on my skin and doesn't absorb. Also it's yellow, so it doesn't absorb properly thus making my skin feel very tight when I move my facial muscles, and it also feels very oily and I hate it when my face feels and looks oily.
So can anyone suggest me a good quality lotion I can use to replace Dan's lotion? I'll need a lotion that absorbs into my skin pretty quick so that my skin is moist enough to where I can move my facial muscles around without feeling like its tight and one that absorbs quick enough because if it doesn't absorb quick enough my skin will start to dry and peel, and it will also feel tight.
Also another quick question, I've noticed that when I apply the BP to my face it makes my eyes very dry, very itchy and red looking, I'd say around 2-3 hours after everything has been applied they get dry, red and itchy. Can anyone tell me what's the deal with that? OH I also live in Australia so if you could tell me a lotion that's available in Australia that'll be great.
Thanks.
Hey! I was having the same problem with horrible dryness and flaking (after using The Regimen for 3 weeks). 2 days ago I got a lotion called Cetaphil, because it seemed like the most popular alternative and there were a lot of reviews on here that said it removes the dryness well. I've only used it for 2 days (morning and night), but so far I definitely see a difference. My face isn't tight at all and it feels a lot softer. There are still a few tiny flakes on my face when I wake up in the morning, but once I apply the lotion it's fine for the rest of the day. It feels a little creamy and heavier compared to the moisturizer the Regimen comes with, but I have already gotten used to applying it. It's plain white, which I love since the other lotion made my skin look tanner. Also, with the other moisturizer I was using 3+ pumps a day (with 8 drops of Jojoba oil) and the dryness was STILL a problem. With Cetaphil, I only need to use 1 pump and it takes care of everything for the whole day.
Keep in mind, if you're in the early stages of the Regimen (first 3 weeks or so), there will still be dryness while your skin gets used to the BP, so you might need to use extra or reapply it during the day. Good luck!
(P.S. I live in America, so I'm not sure if Cetaphil is available in Australia, but I think it's pretty widely sold.)
I suggest the Cerave moisturizing lotion.
Cetaphil is also wonderful but for me its more for a night time moisturizer like the Acne.org one. Cerave absorbs very very quickly and doesn't leave my skin greasy or oily looking but it still manages to hydrate my skin. You can try the Cerave for Day and the Cetaphil for night, that is usually what I do and it works very very well for me.
I'm going to purchase the Cerave cream off Ebay hence it's not available in Australia. The regimen's lotion makes my skin feel greasy and makes my face a little orange and it doesn't absorb quick enough maybe about an hour or so later it absorbs into my skin, but it still feels like it just sits on my skin and doesn't go in. I will most definitely buy the Cerave cream, thanks for the replies and help as I've found it very useful.
