I followed the Regimen religiously as recommended in the instructions. The first two weeks were okay. I had only few breakouts and I thought that it was working. My skin has become drier and itchier. My skin was already dry before using the Regimen. I started to have breakouts in places I never had breakouts in before. I am on my fourth week now and I had to stop. It feels like my skin is burning. The flaking is unbelievable. When I wear make up, it is a disaster. I don't know what to do. Please help!
Hey dtshareif, sorry you are going through that. It's a pain, I know. I have really sensitive skin and I have to really watch how I use BP since my skin gets really red if I'm not careful. For me, I have to take double the time Dan recommends for amping up my use of BP. You might try reducing your usage to nights only and just cleansing/moisturizing in the daytime. Also, a lot of people love jojoba oil for flaking. You might try that. I can't use it for my skin, but a lot of regimen users love it and swear by it for flakes and dryness.
Sometimes it helps to wait more time in between each step of the regimen as well. I take double the time recommended between each step. If I shower, I wait about 15-30 minutes before I apply BP, and then I give my skin about 20 minutes before I moisturize. It's a pain, but it can make a huge difference. Good luck!
Definitely take the above member's advice. Sometimes it just takes longer for some peoples skin to adjust. Unfortunately its around the 4-6 week mark that is the hardest with dry flaking skin, burning - overall just a horrible time. You need to push through this stage, accept that you're going to look horrible for another month, that your makeup isnt going to sit nicely on your skin because it will be dry and flaky etc. But if you get to the other side, once your skin adjusts to the BP, that is when you will start to clear. Everything you have described is pretty normal reactions to starting the regimen.
Good luck!
