Hi Everyone!

So after watching hours of youtube videos and reading a ton of reviews, I have went ahead and ordered the regimen after seeing so many success stories. I ordered it on Monday and had it shipped express so I did receive it yesterday afternoon. I wanted to start ASAP! My wedding is in a little less than two months and I am a little nervous that my skin will be a mess once the wedding comes. I have struggled with moderate acne all my life and been on every cream and antibiotic from the dermatologist and could probably open up a drugstore with all of the products I have tried with no success. As the years went by, my acne did eventually get under control somewhat, and right now if my life, my acne is by no means horrible, maybe a few pimples here and there but they are the underneath, painful, cystic ones that take forever to go away. My skin is otherwise pretty much clear, but I have a lot of large pores and very oily skin. Does the regimen help with overall skin tone or is it mainly geared to just acne and pimples? Also, when I run my hands over my face, I do feel bumps, which I am assuming are clogged pores. My biggest concern is the dryness and the flaking that a lot of users have said they have experienced. Do you think that it will be ok by then? When should I expect the dryness and flaking to start and stop? Has anyone experienced none of the flaking or dryness? I know I should have thought about a skincare regimen way earlier than two months but my skin goes through these periods where I would be clear, minus the clogged pore bumps, oily skin, and large pores, and then out of nowhere, I get these breakouts. I have so much coming up within the next month and a half and I just don't want to be embarrassed with my face looking like it is falling off! I have bought the jojoba oil and have been adding it to the moisturizer since I have started the regimen yesterday. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much in advance!

I would advise against using the regimen so close to your wedding. I suffered from irritation right up to my 4th month and even then, my face was red and irritated. The regimen can work wonders but this is your wedding so I wouldn't take the chance as everyones skin reacts differently

Congrats!

My advice would be to start slowly so that you avoid irritation, redness and over drying your skin. Don't go for the full amount right away. Begin with a small amount of bp at bedtime only and see how it goes for a couple of weeks. Increase the amount or apply bp in the morning too if your skin is tolerating it well.

It can take a while to see results so don't get discouraged.

Have you tried any diet changes such as cutting out dairy, processed foods and sugary treats?

Try and get enough sleep and don't get too stressed out (probs hard to do with a wedding coming up!)

Good luck.

Hi ! I wouldn't use the regimen less than a month before such an event...

I started the regimen two months ago and i am just starting to see results, it was just horible during those first two months. I started the regimen because i have oily skin associated with acne (cheeks and forehead), the first weeks i had a hudge breakout and the scars i'm a struggling with now are those caused by the acne at the begining of the treatment. Besides i'm struggling with extremely dry skin (even with big amount af moisturizer, aha+ and jojoba oil...) which sometimes makes my face impossible to cover up with make up. My skin is obviously getting clearer BUT it is long and with side effects (flakiness, redness), so i am definetely continuing the treatment but i remember how hard i wanted to give up several times because of the cons...

good luck!

My opinion is that you should start the Regimen after your wedding.

I know it's tough to ignore it, but since you have moderate acne, it's hard to say how long it will take. I have minor acne, and was cleared up mostly in about a month. Before the Regimen, I had around 7 zits on my face daily. But for most people, it take 3-4 months, sometimes even years to get clear. The Regimen's unfortunate side effects are dryness, peeling, redness, irritation, and even burning, and while some people don't experience these, I know firsthand how difficult it is to put on makeup with these side effects that nearly everyone gets. And it would make sense if you wanted to wear some makeup on your wedding day.

I don't know, it's just my opinion. But good luck with your skin and whatever decision you make.

Congratulations on the wedding!

Thanks so much for all the kind words and advice! It's so hard on what decision to make regarding this! Does anyone know if I just spot treating with the BP would it make a difference or would I need to put it all over to get the best results? I have done it for two days so far and used a very small amount and have not experienced the redness, itchiness, or dry skin yet.

Hi,

Hope this doesn't sound too extreme--but have you considered going on antibiotics for like 2 weeks before your wedding? Antibiotics always clear me up, but most doctors don't want you on them long term.

If I had a really special occasion, I would probably ask the doctor for a 2 week course of antibiotics. Just a thought, but I understand if you don't like taking pills. Good luck!!

I never really considered that. Not that I am against it, I just never really thought about it as an option. I would be worried that my skin would purge first, which I am not sure if that is an accurate assumption or not. I have been on a few different pills in the past. I do not remember if they worked or not since I took them over 10 years ago lol. Do you have any recommendations that worked well without any side effects?

On a side note, I just want to thank everyone that took the time to answer my questions. I love that no one judges and that everyone is here to help each other. I think it's so great! :)

In my own case, I never got an initial breakout when I started antibiotics. It just started working. I took Bactrim on and off for about 5 years and my skin was very nice. BUT every time I stopped taking Bactrim, my skin would go back to exactly how it was before.

Right now I am taking a 2 week course of Minocycline. I think it's helping me now, but my derm also gave me a bunch of topical stuff that I'm using so it's hard to pin-point.

If you're worried about side-effects--this is my experience: Bactrim, I had no side effects at all, but some people are severely allergic to this. Minocycline, for the first few days made me dizzy and nauseous but I got over it and now I'm fine.

Hope this helps you!!
