It's 6th week i'm on the regimen. Still getting breakouts, not as big as 4th and 5th week though.

The problem is that the lower part of my face gets flaky. My mom keeps shouting at me, saying that it's an infection, that I'll get skin cancer, that I am turning faces on the street.

What can I do about my mom? She's always like that to me. At first it was because of "my eating habits causing acne" (I go to the gym a lot and trying to eat a lot of protein), now it's because of the flakes.

She's just trying to protect you. Unforunately there probably won't be much you can do to change her mind.

If she is the kind of person that can be sat down and talked to, that's the best option to explain you are trying these things because you believe they will make your skin clear (or the protein will help you in the gym), and ask her to respect that. If your skin doesn't start looking better within the next month, then agree you will start changing your regimen (less BP for example).

If she isn't the type of parent to hear you out, what you must do is speak less and do more. Show that your skin is healthy and she won't be able to complain about the regimen; show that you're stronger and feeling better so she can't complain about the protein. Show, don't tell. Unforunately that's a hard road because it's MUCH harder to show than tell, especially when you're playing this clear-skin waiting game.

Well my mom was right. I've stopped applying bp this morning. My skin is really dry and flaky (more than I expected it to be). I was using 5% bp (there's no 2.5% here) so don't let me stop you from starting the regimen. Moral of the story is listen to your mom neutral.gif

Moisturize before let dry. BP let dry. Moisturize mixed with a couple drops of jojoba oil.
