Hey all!
I'm really glad I found this site/forum. I've been lurking on and off for a few months but have recently only joined.
I tried doing the Regimen using drugstore products as opposed to the Acne.org brand products. Currently, I'm on 200mg DORYX and ZIANA.
I have several problems and, hopefully, you lovely people can help me!
- ALLERGIC TO BP? So I tried the Regimen EXACTLY as the steps showed and my skin started flaking and peeling like crazy! I know this is normal so didn't pay much attention to it. But, then, I realized that I started getting red, patchy spots on my skin that made me look rash-y or diseased. I am not sure what the signs for BP allergies are but I don't know if it's healthy for me to continue using BP in my case.
- THE ZIANA: My derm prescribed Ziana for me and I was wondering if it would be acceptable to replace the BP with the Ziana or to use them in conjunction with each other.
That's all I have for now.
Thank you so much! This is a lovely forum!

I had to stop using the regimen after 4 months because one day randomly after using the regimen for 3 months, my skin started getting really dry, itchy, scaly and red. It was never like that during the first 3 months of use, and I had used BP products for years before hand, so I could only assume it was specifically Dan's BP that caused an allergic reaction one day out of the blue. How long have you been on the regimen? If it's been a couple months and it's getting worse then I'd say maybe it's an allergic reaction.
I don't know anything about Ziana though so I can't help you there.
Good luck!
I haven't actually been on the Regimen for THAT long (maybe a few days) because the effects of the BP began to freak me out. As said before, I know peeling and stuff are to be expected but I wasn't expecting the rashes and red blotches on my skin. I still follow the methods for cleaning my face and applying creams, though.
Thank you!
I am not 100% about the Ziana, but it does sound like your reacting badly to the BP to be sure you could email Brandy and brandy@acne.org for regimen coaching and she will be able to tell you 100% if your reaction is normal. Sounds like its more or a reaction rather than a side effect though
