Hi all,

I am wondering if there's any product out there to protect the skin from contact with grease, touch, bacteria?

I ask this because for the past few months i began dating a girl and noticed that after we kissed i started to have terrible breakouts around the mouth. i tried 3 dermatologists and they tried everything, nothing worked and they were baffled.

Sadly, 2 weeks ago we went on a brake and i noticed my skin clearing up completely, i was smooth like a baby and then i had that AHA moment. She has very greasy skin. And to confirm my suspicion, we met again a few days ago on a date and we made-out which now led me to break out again around my mouth.

I love this girl and of course, would not want to lose her because of my skin sensitivity. Note: She doesn't wear make up or have acne.

Any tips would be appreciated

-A

I guess you could try using an acne medication around your mouth that kills bacteria like benzoyl peroxide or an antibiotic. Or you could just wash your mouth as soon as you are able to after kissing her but don't let her see you because it will hurt her feelings omg

Does she wear something on her lips? If so, you could be sensitive to lip gloss/lipstick etc. Acne isn't caused by bacteria, it's an immune reaction that is exacerbated by bacteria.

Bingo. I met her last night and she tells me that she wears lip gloss religiously because she has cracked lips, and she slobbers it on especially before she makes out with me. Sigh... If only i had noticed.

Thanks for the pointer

Just out of interest. I have very sensitive skin. I have to be extremely careful and mega healthy to have normal skin. Meaning no sugar, alchhohol, dairy and even touch my skin. Is there a way to build a stronger tolerance for my skin?
