Getting Off The Regimen

I've been on the regimen for just over 1 year, and it has been good to me more or less, except I've ruined a lot of clothes and bed linen by bleaching them.

One of the weird places I used to get acne is my scalp, but it's been gone for some time now, as a result of my low carb diet I believe. Based on that I decided I want to stop the regimen to see if I am fine without now that I don't eat carbs.

So far in one month, I'm not. My nose is blackhead city and I have got several zits in my old trouble areas but it also coincided with the first time i've cheated with carbs in a long time.

Does anyone have any experience coming off the regimen? Did you have the same problem, and is it temporary?

How did you stop? Cold turkey or did you wean off gradually? Weaning off gradually should minimize IB's.

I'm planning to wean off BP as well soon due to dietary changes.

cold turkey 1.5 months ago, and I felt I was fine for the first couple weeks. I should have weaned myself off it in hindsight.

The other thing is I have been doing ketogenic diet for about 4 months now, and I ate a huge carb meal 2 weeks ago, and since then I've broken out on my face, so I really don't know if this the result. Usually when I massage my scalp I will find really bad painful cysts and acne especially around my crown, but my head has been so clear, and i haven't changed a single thing but my diet.

So my opinion its one of 3 things

1) a natural reaction to coming off BP and my face will settle

2) sudden in take of carbs (I feel I am very wheat allergic based on breakouts and redness following certain meals like pasta)

3) I still have bad acne without BP and need to go back on

I'm hoping its 1 or 2. I'm going to stay off until mid november and if it doesnt get better in the next few weeks I'll go back to BP. I don't like the idea of being reliant on it but it did work for me, which is better than having no solution
