Hi all,
I am so happy with my results using the Regimen, I had to post something.
I am 32 (female) and have had acne since I was a teenager, it has never gone away. Every few years, my breakouts get so bad I just want to stay home and not show my face.
I get cystic acne, whitehead and blackheads. I never used to get acne on my cheeks but for the last few years, acne has found a home there and around my chin area.
I have worn make-up everyday since my late teens to cover up the acne. But for the first time, my scars are healing and my face is smooth. No more cystic or whitehead acne, some remaining blackheads but those are almost all gone too!!
I started the Regimen two months ago, but I do the routine a bit differently as using too much Benzoyl Peroxide just really irritated an dried out my skin.
I do this once in the morning and once before bed.
- Wash with a mild cleanser (this changes for me a lot, currently using St.Ives Tea Tree Oil cleanser), work soap into a lather and gently apply, then rinse without rubbing. Dab dry with facecloth. For the evening, since I wear make-up, I apply a nickel size amount of jojoba oil to my face before using the cleanser, gets all the make-up off!
- With clean fingers apply your eye cream and moisterizer to your eyes.
- I used to the do the Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% (Spectra brand) step first then the moisterizer, but now I mix both together. My trick is to use about a quarter or more-circumference area of moisterizer (right now using Cetaphil, sensitive skin, but before I was using Neutrogena sensitive skin - makes no difference, I sometimes just use other brands too), the key is to have A LOT of moisterizer. Then about the amount equivalent to the upper third of your index finger (or of your pinky if you have long fingers like me). Then a pea-size drop of Pure Deming's intense moisterizer. Mix all this between fingertips, it'll take 3 fingers on each side then gently apply to face avoiding eye area, it will be a lot of product so you will look like you're wearing a mask, I just leave it alone to absorb after 20 secs. The Pure Deming is greasy and your face will feel greasy, but the Regimen did not work for me without it.
If the skin feels too itchy, I apply extra Emu oil on the itchy areas.
For the scarring:
Once a week I use the Pure Deming 40% lactic acid peel.
Once or twice a week I use the Pure Deming Intense Gel peel
The PD products are NOT cheap, but after 20 years of acne it's the first time I am clear and my scars have almost all disappeared.
Hope this helps someone!!
I'm so happy for you and your results, thats great.
I don't have much active acne but have hyper-pigmentation that makes it look like its acne. Would you recommend the Pure Deming 40% Lactic Acid Peel. I did some research and it looks great
What was your experience with it?
