Dryness. Jojoba Oil Experiences?

I'm on day 11 of the regimen. Ever since I started using the BP twice a day on the second week, I seen improvments on my acne but my face is really really dry now. It feels very rough. I only have major flakiness around my chin but still my whole face is pretty dry. On the first day of the second week, I tried increasing the BP a little but that burned my face even when I applied moisturizer after, so I just continued with the same amount I started with on the first week. Is that okay? Or was I supposed to increase the BP a little? I just found that it burned my face when I applied it. I'm thinking on getting the jojoba oil for the dryness. Does it work? Also, how long did it take for your skin to adjust to the BP? When should my dryness and flakiness stop? It burns a little every time I apply the BP and moisturizer. Is that normal?

As far as I know the burning is completely normal for the first few weeks on the regimen. It happened for me and majority of people I've come across on the boards too. It's really really annoying but it does go away once your skin has fully adjusted to the BP - which means you'll probably still deal with burning / redness / dryness / flakiness until you've reached the full amount of BP and have used that for about a week. But it is worth it! You will start seeing improvements with your acne.

And it's fine to use the same amount from the first week (pea size / small amount of BP) in the second week but twice a day. The main thing is to go slow with increasing the BP. You don't' 'have' to use a certain amount of BP by a certain time - just do what your skin can handle and increase the amount slowly. Your 'aim' for the first few weeks / the first month of the regimen should just be to get your skin used to the BP by slowly ramping up to the full amount, rather than seeing amazing results. Maybe by the end of the week you can increase the amount of BP slightly or just wait until the third week.

Jojoba oil does help with the dryness / flakiness in my opinion. So I definitely would recommend getting some! It doesn't stop flakes completely but it makes it so much better than just moisturiser alone.

Good luck with it all! :) The regimen can by trying at times but stick with it! Try to be patient and follow the directions as closely as possible and you should be seeing great results soon enough!
