So i've been using the regimen religiously for 5 and a half weeks. I know that in the first 2 weeks, irritation is expected, but im still experiencing it. My skin is ridicuously flaky. I use the full 2 pumps of moisturizer and even reuse it during the day. My skin is also super duper itchy. I don't know what the probem is. My skin is somewhat red but its not swollen. This is really aggravating because i look like a snake that's shedding. I recently ordered the Jojobal oil and AHA . Im hoping the AHA will remove the flakes from my face. I do have sensitive skin so i don't know what is irritating it so much. I catch myself lightly scratching my face in my sleep because its so itchy and it burns. Should i use less BP? Shoud i wait it out? I feel my face get really dry so i know that the moisturizer isn't moisturizing my face as well as it needs to so im hoping the jojoba will fix that? Someone please help, thank you!
Yeah your going to experience irritation, dryness in the beginning phases Adding jojoba oil will defiantly help. Start off slowly with AHA however and make sure you use it as it recommends every couple of days etc. You could try to reduce the amount of BP in order to reduce irritation however not too much, just enough to find a good medium. Also make sure your moisturiser is completely absorbed before you go to bed, if it is not then essentially it will just rub off onto your pillow case. With all this said try jojoba and AHA some people have completely eradicated their dryness/ irritation with this combination. All the best
In the early months I found waiting at least 15 mins after BP to add moisturiser helped a lot with the itchiness. If you are using the full amount of BP and you find that your skin is just dry and flaky but not overly red, then it would be ok to start introducing AHA (slowly, like ^underneath has advised), but if you are still quite irritated and red, don't introduce AHA just yet. Just start using the jojoba oil which should give you a nice greasy monkey look
Just hang in there and try not to reduce the amount of BP you're using just yet. Wait until you're consistently clear before starting to experiment by reducing BP. Once you start to reduce, its really hard to build back up again if you need to. 5 weeks is still really early, and I found that I was fully adjusted to BP by week 9/10 (as in, no more itchiness or redness).
Good luck!
I already do wait at least 15 minutes before applying the moisturizer. I got the AHA and Jojoba oil a couple of days ago. I haven't used the AHA because my skin is still very irritated. I've been using the jojoba oil but no luck. Im still very itchy, dry and flaky even after multiple applications of the oil and moisturizer.Anything else I can do or should I just stick it out
The way I overcame the flakiness of my skin was by using a technique by 'cool as kim deal' who originally suggested this on another post.
Basically, BEFORE you start your routine and cleanse your skin, get about 10-12 drops of jojoba oil in your hand and then dab it on to your face to the areas which are dry and flaky (for me this was my entire face) then slowly and gently rub the oil in to your skin, gradually increasing the pressure. It should start to feel gritty, this is all the dead, flaky skin coming off. After a few minutes of massaging it in, stop and leave it on your face for around 10 minutes. After that, continue with your normal routine, wash the jojoba oil off with warm water and your cleanser, then follow the rest of the regimen as normal
