I am almost three months into the regimen and have not had the smooth transition as some. I still have acne but there has Ben improvement and certain parts of my face flare up pretty regularly with redness/irritation such as sides of mouth and more recently jaw area. My new concern is these brown flakes patches on my face. At first I thought they were brown marks but thank God they are flakes that seem marred to my face. I don't want to take a tweezer and pull them off as that may cause unnecessary irritation so my question to the forum is this, will continued use of AHA get rid of them? So far I am liking it and it is making my face smoother. I am easing into it though and on my second week of use, will be using it diluted every other night.
Any advice would be appreciated.
On a side note. Is anyone else or has anyone else still experienced constant redness in parts of the face/irritation in their third, fourth or even fifth month?
Good to see you sticking it out, things will get better. Irritation goes hand in hand with the regime, and as your skin becomes more clear you can look at ways to reduce BP over the long run to reduce irritation and redness. For the brown marks that are appearing, I can only assume that they are pigmentation on your skin. Perhaps the AHA is making them peel and regenerate the skin quicker. However i recommend wearing a sunscreen during the day in order to prevent your skin from becoming more pigmented, also it is recommended when using AHA as the skin become more susceptible to sun exposure.
As i mentioned over the long run decrease the amount of BP very slowly over the long run in order to reduce redness, however make sure you are still not breaking out, eventually you will find a balance where you can overcome redness and acne. All the best
