I wasn't so sure if it was a good idea to start The Regimen since I'm pretty sure my acne is caused by hormones. Why do I think that? I graduated last year and that summer my face went completely clear. I had the most confidence ever. I woke up and didn't even bother looking into a mirror. My face went from horrible all during school, to completely clear during the summer. And not a face wash, regimen, or pill was taken.
August came and my acne decided to flare back up instantly. I lost my self esteem completely. To me that it was like losing every penny in my bank account. "Over exaggerating"
Anyways, I've used many types of face washes. Name it and I've probably tried it and it either dried my skin out terribly to wear I could rub my face with my palm and it'd flake. Extremely embarrassing. AcneFree did that horribly! I dived in sometime around February I believe and bought The Reg. and then got on here and starting seeing all the "bad" that I didn't bother looking up when I bought it. Anyways that sat in the corner of my bedroom not getting used. I just don't know what's causing it..I work out everyday of the week body weight lifiting. Maybe it's because I drink a lot of milk with my protein shakes..I take all my vitamins. Could it be I just need to drink A LOT more water daily? I can clearly see that I might need to do that.
Apart from that sad sob story, I'm on day 2 of trying this Regimen and am taking a picture everyday so that I can see what difference it does. Wish me luck, folks. I know my acne isn't severe, but just the littlest thing can break someones self esteem.
Its good to see that you have realised that using loads of different products can be irritating. Get back to basics, start the regime and try to avoid irritation as much as possible. I have read so many stories where people have clear skin then they get a breakout and go to town on their skin (I also did this).... then it just snowballs from there. Keep working out, and stay active, it will give you other goals rather than clear skin to work towards. At the end of the day, you could try and figure out the cause of your acne, whether its milk or protein shakes, however I highly recommend just sticking with the regime, and follow the guidelines specifically. Also try and stay positive throughout the beginning phases of the regime, it can be easy to get disgruntled if you have an initial breakout, but this usually happens to most.
All the best .
