5 Months Into The Regimen?

I'm almost 5 months into the Regimen and I'm not sure why but I feel like the DKR is suddenly not working for me anymore?

It was going great up until the 3rd month - breakouts were less frequent, skin was feeling smoother, I was already at the full amount of BP and I kept to the instructions. But one day, I started getting scaly skin/irritation bumps around my temple and it slowly spread to the rest of my face. I thought it was an allergic reaction but then I suddenly realised it was Dan's BP? I hadn't changed anything - still using the same bottle of BP that I started with, same amount for a while now...so I decreased the amount of BP I was using and added jojoba oil hoping it would calm down the skin.

Eventually the scaliness went away and I tried to start over with the BP and trying to slowly increase the dosage...I've been using a little less than half a finger for the past 2 months but my skin STILL freaks out from it when I try to move a little past it. Even with spot treatments, the spot will eventually get scaly after too much BP use. Now my breakouts are coming back and I don't know what to do. :(

I'm trying to barrel through but it's really discouraging...any one have any advice to share?

You may well be allergic to either the BP or another ingredient in it. I would personally try another BP and see how your skin reacts. If it's the same with the new BP, then it's likely you're allergic to BP.

Normally contact skin reactions happen within 3-7 days.. Not often 5 months later. Personally I would look back to ANY new skin product you are using.. New moisturizer? Product? Laundry detergent? Anything that could make the skin "extra sensitive" could be causing the BP to be to harsh on the skin, or make you mistake it for an allergic reaction.

Just take a review of things, and try to keep moving forward.. If it gets unbearable then maybe it's just to much for your skin.. but don't rule it out too quick!

I was gonna say that I had already reviewed everything during that time......when I realised I had just switched to a new makeup-remover! It's a face wipe that I use to take off my foundation and whatever and it's a brand that I've never used before and it was right around the time before my skin started freaking out.

I use it daily so I guess maybe there might be some chemicals in that wipe that's making my skin weirdly sensitive? Worth a shot I guess, hopefully it'll help me get back on track with the BP! :(

Ahaha, I almost guarantee you that's it!.. I thought it was odd for you to have a skin reaction so late in treatment.. let me know how it works out when you discontinue the make up remover! (:

I find makeup remover wipes far too irritating for my skin while using the regimen. Instead of using makeup wipes, I use jojoba oil to gently massage over my face to 'loosen' my makeup and then use my normal cleanser to wash it off (in my case Acne.org cleanser or cetaphil, whichever one im using that day). I find that works really well with no irritation, so my skin is calm enough to not react to the BP.

Maybe its something you could try too, but either way good luck with it all. surprised.gif

I've been using jojoba oil with a cotton pad but I might forego the cotton pad altogether and do as you recommended :o.

At the moment though I my skin is really dry/scaly so I'm trying to get it moisturised again before I use any BP 'cause at this point I'm afraid it's just going to make the scaliness worse. :(
