Is Sunscreen Necessary On The Regimen?

I'm starting the Regimen really soon, and I've heard that benzoyl peroxide makes your skin very sensitive to the sun. Does this mean I'll have to put on BP, moisturizer, AND sunscreen in the morning? If so, are there are any products that you guys recommend that have moisturizer/sunscreen together, so I don't have to put on so many layers on my skin?

I would highly recommend using sunscreen while using the regimen. Not only is it great for preventing sun damage that can be exacerbated on the regimen, it's a good skin care practice, especially if you are exposed to the elements more than 15 minutes a day. Dan has a sunscreen that will roll out soon but there are many good one's you can choose from on the market. My personal favorite is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunblock Liquid SPF 70. Good luck and keep us up to date on your progress! :)

Thanks for the reply, I just don't understand that if sunscreen is so important and everyone recommends it, then why is it not outlined as one of the important steps in the regimen? If someone is inside all day then its fine, but if someone is a college student or is outside almost all day every day, then isn't sunscreen just as vital of a step as moisturizer and cleanser and all that? I see people always posting about different moisturizers and cleansers, but rarely do I see people post about sunscreens, which I guess are more important than I thought!

Sunscreen is pretty important while on the regimen. BP can make your skin sensitive to the sun that's why some people have noticed getting a tan fairly quick. I'm not usually outdoors that often because my job involves computers, but even then I still apply sunblock because you never know when you might just need to be under the sun.

Luckily, acne.org is coming out with a moisturizer with SPF. I guess it just took awhile because they wanted to make sure to give the people something that wouldn't break us out.
