Hey guys just purchased a new moisturizer since dan's one ran out for me. I was debating between Cerave, Cetaphil, and Neutrogena but when I went to the grocery store they only had the Cetaphil and Neutrogena, from then after 15 minutes of debating I chose the Neutrogena but there were two types Combination and the SPF. Since I live in warm sunny weather I figured it'd be more practical to get the SPF 15 Neutrogena, but here lies the real big question for me. Some people say that this moisturizer has caused them to break out, but from what I read through many posts is that acne starts actually starts like 4-6 weeks before it even shows up inflamed into what we all hate "pimples". So how can even people say a certain product breaks them out when in fact acne starts way before hand. Is it that after one application of this moisturizer they broke out? This makes no sense to me since from what I've researched so far is that certain things can exacerbate acne, but is a moisturizer really bad enough to clog your pores cause acne and make you break out the next day? It's so conflicting to me because how can people even review certain cleansers or moisturizers when acne was formed weeks in advance?

If anyone could clarify for me, and let me know if this Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture SPF 15 is good or have tried it out themselves I would definitely like better insight into this. I hate having to choose between multiple products where their's always the good reviews and bad. Why can't there just be one miracle formula?!!

Yes it gets awfully confusing. Sometimes the best thing is to stop reading reviews and experiment yourself to see how your own skin reacts. As for acne forming weeks prior to it showing on your face, I don't think thats necessarily true. I know if I wear particular foundations (Chanel Pro Lumier as an example), I will have at least 2 new pimples on my face within 4 hours of wearing it. That happens each and every time I use it. Other foundations (like Almay) I can wear all day and not have any acne form.

So this (as a personal experience) means that not all acne is formed weeks prior (if any at all).

As for reviews, some people break out using cetaphil, cerave and neutrogena, while others swear by it. It all comes down to how your own skin reacts and only you won't know how your skin reacts until you try it.

Good luck with your choice....(ps. regardless of whether a product breaks you out or not, just keep in mind that cetaphil is a very thick and greasy moisturiser (which I personally like) while neutrogena is a lighter more fluid moisturiser. Perhaps base your decision on what texture you prefer?)

I see what you mean, I guess Im being impatient and thinking too critically. Gonna start seeing what works for me instead of reading every single page of reviews lol. Of course it definitely helps with the choices I make.

This new moisturizer is more of a cream versus a lotion. Like its more pasty its harder to apply and doesnt seem to rub in as effectively as dans so I do wait longer for it to absorb but with jojoba oil it works nicely. As for texture of moisturizer it is different but I have no preference and would just like somethin thats effective. Spending so much on products is putting the hurt on my wallet tho haha
