Is it wise to take a day break on the regimen give your skin one full day without any bp? Maybe moisturize if needed?

Perhaps it is not the best idea if you want to stay clear. I went to the beach about two weeks ago and then a week and couple days later, I got two spots on my jaw. Nothing major. I had to spot treat with AHA and its almost gone now. I'm just saying that be prepared to up the BP because you might get a spot or two.

What would be your reason for skipping?

Definitely.

If you just started out , and your skin is a little irritated/red/ or extra-dry is always a good call to take a day off.

No! You don't want to skip a day. Each day you medicate is a day closer to getting your skin clear. Your skin doesn't need a break from BP. All you'd be doing is messing up the regimen for no reason.

Consistency is key, so it's best not so skip applications unless you are experiencing something drastic such as you got a severe sunburn. If you are overly dry, you can slow down on the amount of bp for a bit, and here are some other tips for managing dryness. http://www.acne.org/faq.html#dry
