So I'm new to these forums and I'm trying to decide if I should go on "The Regimen" or not. Now I live in Canada and I was wondering what products I could use if I'm not up for ordering Dan's online.

I'll post some pictures of my skin so you can get an idea of the type of acne that I have

But basically my skin consists of very mild acne, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, and dark circles around eyes.

Again if there are any recommendations for this in terms of maybe drug store products, for example products I could buy at Shoppers Drug Mart or even Safe Way.. Or if you think I should just try Dan's products.

Any help would be appreciated.post-205366-0-05222000-1364191320_thumb.post-205366-0-63168600-1364191368_thumb.post-205366-0-66047700-1364191583_thumb.

Hi! I don't live in Canada, but I am on the regimen and I don't use Dan's products so perhaps I can share my products with you.

For my Cleanser I use the Cetaphil Daily Cleanser for Normal to Oily skin. I will be switching to the Cetephil Gentle Cleanser after I run out because I heard it is so much more non-drying on the skin.

For BP though, I recommend getting Dan's BP. I don't because they don't ship to my country but it can get expensive buying the small tubes. I currently use Benzac 2.5% BP. And a lot of US and Canada regimen users use Neutrogena On The Spot Treatment. But if you can get Dan's BP, they do because it comes out a lot cheaper. Especially if you buy in bulk.

For moisturizer, I use a gel based moisturizer in the AM because I live in a tropical country and many moisturizers feel heavy for me. At night I use the Cetaphil lotion. I'm sure that since you live in Canada, using it in the AM and PM will be fine. Adding jojoba oil to the moisturizer makes it even better!

After being on the regimen for a month, add the AHA to the regimen and it helps very much with hyperpigmentation and red marks that acne has left behind.

Hope this helps! :)

And are you finding that this works for you? Would there be any jojoba oil at my local drug store perhaps??

And would I also be able to get the AHA at a local drug store too?

Oh yes it has really really worked for me! I am completely free from bumps. Dan's regimen really works if you put the time and effort into it.

For jojoba oil, I am not sure if you can find them in drugstores. I get them from a local shop here which sells organic stuff. If you have a store like that then probably try that one. As for the AHA, I hear a lot of people using Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion with 10% glycolic acid and I think you can get them at a Zellers.

Good luck! :)

So should I only apply the benzyl peroxide to the problem areas? Or should I apply it everywhere. And I heard cetaphil is clogging... What about ceravae or whatever its called? I heard that's alot better. Can I get Benzac 2.5% at the drug store?

A lot of people do apply the BP only on their problem areas. I found that applying it on only my problem areas, new zits would come up on other places. So I do the regimen on my whole face. Cetaphil doesn't clog my pores, Cerave from what I have heard, works great as well. You can always buy the small bottles to test and see which one you like better. I do not know where you can get Benzac, but ask around in your local pharmacies or drug stores for a 2.5% BP. Again, if you can get Dan's, that would come out much cheaper for you.

So I was wondering do you have any recommendations for a morning moisturizer with a good SPF? I want to prevent my hyperpigmentation from getting worse.

I have no good recommendation for an all-in-one moisturizer and SPF. Dan suggests Hope In A Jar. I have never tried that because it is a bit expensive and hard to find where I am from.

I suggest using your favorite non-comedogenic moisturizer and adding in a bit of your favorite sunscreen. Mix those two up and add a few drops of jojoba oil.

And it won't dilute the sunscreen or anything like that?

I think maybe it does a bit, but I don't really mind because I don't stay out in the sun really unless I'm on vacation. On my regular days I'm just working in an office, so I don't need that much sunscreen. I'd rather dilute it a bit than have that heavy sunsceen-y feeling on my face. I live in a tropical country so I don't like the heavy feeling it gives me if I'm just indoors.

You live in Canada though, so it might not bother you as much to first apply a coat of moisturizer and then a coat of sunscreen. Either way...it works.
