Is it possible for me to start the regimen again and completely avoid any flakiness (or at least have minimal flakiness...), that was the main reason I quit - but weirdly I enjoyed the routine of applying all the products, so it kinda makes me wanna start again. I miss having something do other than cleansing my face.
I never really full adapted to BP before, I used to go through long stages without any flakes and then suddenly have a ton. I did like the colour the BP made my face...looked like I'd been on a holiday or something!
Jokes aside, it did give me comfort being constantly clear. I'm kinda getting sick of the odd whitehead I get every 2-3 days and then them lasting another 2-3 because I refuse to pop them. Sooo, thoughts?
Oh, also I'd like to ask a few questions about the DKR cleanser and moisturiser (I only bought acne.org BP before). Is the cleanser foaming (love foaming cleansers) or is it anything like cetaphil (oily, slimy, greasy)? Does the moisturiser actually absorb or does it sit on the skin (like cetaphil moisturising lotion, ew) and does it feel cooling? I hate moisturisers that don't feel refreshing and hydrating.
i use benzaclin everyday (5% bp with 1% clindamycin) and the only stuff i can use on my face that will make my face not dry is olay regenerist deep hydration cream.
it also works to calm the skin and helps with red marks. i have used a ton of other moisturizers before this one and my face would just flake and peel like crazy from the bp. i get it from ebay for like $16.
I suppose it would be possible almost avoid dryness and irritation. The way to do it would be to go incredibly slow with the build up of BP. If you change your mind set over a period of 8 weeks that the timeframe is only for you to get used to BP NOT to get clear, I would say that you could avoid dryness. eg, increasing BP so slowly that it will take a good 2 months before you are using the full dose.
As for acne.org moisturiser and cleanser. Yes the cleanser is foaming and totally different to cetaphil (which I agree leaves a greasy residue, but I personally don't mind that) and the moisturiser is much lighter than cetaphil. I does sink into the skin, but I found it to leave a 'dull' look to my face (unless I added jojoba oil to it and then it left a shiny look which i loved). Cetaphil in comparison is a lot thicker and 'sits' on your face which is great if you have naturally dry skin when doing the regimen.
Thanks a lot
Yeah if I were to start again I would definitely listen to your advice and start very slowly. The last time I probably used a finger length on the third day...
Those products sound perfect. I hate anything greasy that wont absorb into your skin. I'm also looking forward to the SPF moisturiser that Dan has introduced.
