I've been using the DKR for a month now and I still have dry skin, its actually scaly and its pretty bad. Is this normal even for week 4-5. I havent even used the recommended amount of BP. I use about half a finger, not even. I feel like the Cleanser is the product drying me out. Should I cut down on one of them. Is it safe to use Aha on week 4?

Thanks

Dryness is normal with the BP!

I don't think dans cleanser is drying you out, It's probably just down to how the cleanser removed any product off your face, so it would be quite dry with no moisturiser or natural oils on your skin, it 'feels's dry, it's not drying you out!

You just need to keep going with it, if your skin turns very red/painful/itchy, then you can try using BP nightly only, for example.

I wouldn't recommend AHA just yet, it's quite strong stuff! If you do try using it, try mixing it half and half with the moisturiser.

i used the regiment for 9 weeks and my skin was flaking so bad, when i applied the regiment at morning you could not see the flakyness but if i smiled or talked too loud or rinkled my forehead the flakes would become visable :( so i stopped the regiment and my acne has returned but its still better in my opinion grinwink.gif

- get used to the flakes i guess grinwink.gif

I thought I might as well weigh in here. I'm a veritable old lady...45 years old and suffering from cystic acne/small acne flare ups on the jaw area. Dan's treatment has been AWESOME...I'm very close to clear but I do have the dreaded reptile skin, especially since it's winter and the air is dry. I only use Dan's products except for my SPF - I use Elta MD UV Clear SPF 46 which is awesome and doesn't make me break out. OK so dryness: yes it's bad, but not inflamed, sore or red. What I do is in the shower in the morning I wash my face following the regimen directions, and then let the water soak into all the dry skin on my face while I shave my legs etc. Then, before I get out, I very subtly rub my face with my fingertips and feel the dry skin kind of ball up and come off. I do my entire face, skipping any broken out areas. Then, while my face is still damp, I put jojoba oil around my eyes and mouth because that's where I'm driest. I finish letting my face dry, then put my BP on. If it's morning, I let the BP dry and squirt out a palm full of SPF (Dan's moisturizer if it's before bed) and mix in about 6 drops of jojoba. I apply all over my face. Once that's soaked up, I add some of Dan moisturizer over the SPF in my driest spots again. Done. The very gentle fingertip exfoliation helps keep my skin from looking like shoe leather, but I do also apply moisturizer here and there during the course of the day. Is it perfect? No, but it is tolerable. I'm looking forward to seeing if the spring/summer brings a decrease in the dryness. Hope this helps someone.
