Hi
I am a 17 year old boy. I first started getting acne about 2 years ago, and it's gotten worse over time, though I would not call it severe, it's still causing me some low self-esteem..
Over the couple of years I've tried various products:
(This is all products that my doctor gave me)
- Dalacin combined with Tetracyclin Actavis 250mg, which didn't work too well.
- Dalacin combined with Tetracyclin Arco 250mg, which didn't work too well either, but it was an improvement.
- Differin combined with Ery-max erytromycin 250mg, which actually seemed to work well.. but it was too unstable. Sometimes it would seem to work, then I would suddenly have another breakout. Often only a few days between.
I recently started looking for a new product, and found out about the Regimen. After 2 days I havn't seen any results as of yet. Actually it has gotten worse and my skin has turned very red. This may be a combination of the fact that my skin needs to adjust the products, and that I stopped using my prevous treatment. Obviously I'm still going to give it some more time though.
Despite all the positive feedback I've seen in here I have seen some threads about quiting the regimen and that it might cause an even bigger breakout then before. That's a pretty serious factor for me.. I mean, i don't want to use this product all of my life.
So, anyone with experience with the other products i mentioned?
Or some more experience about quitting The Regimen?
Thanks
I don't have any experience with any of those products that you mentioned, but I was on Dan's Regimen for about a year and a half.
Like you, I didn't have severe acne, but it was definitely enough to lower my self esteem to an all time low.
It took me about 4 months to get to the point when I wasn't getting anymore pimples using the Regimen. First 3 months really sucked for me. Red face, constant flakes, irritation, etc. Through it all, I can say that it was worth it!
After my extended use of the Regimen, I felt that I no longer need to use BP. So, I very, very gradually eased off on the amount of BP I used until I was no longer applying the stuff. Worked well for me.
Feel free to through any Q's my way!
Best,
Paul
