Hello all,

So I had been on the regimen for probably a month and a half and honestly the past 2 weeks I was following it exactly as directed, and I believe my skin was clearing up, no pimples really besides on my neck where I shave but I went to a derm to get a spot checked out and he told me to stop using the regimen, and since then I've been breaking out already and it's been 3 days.

My other question I need answered though is that the dr told me to wash my face with Ivory soap before applying the treatment (Ziana) before bed, but besides the cleanser from the regimen I don't know what I could wash my face with before applying the cream. Any advice? Because I really don't want to use Ivory soap I know it's just not good for your skin, but I can't keep breaking out it's not helping me at all. If anyone knows of any good scent free soap free face wash let me know please. I've also been breaking out on my forehead pretty bad which I've never really done before. I've been sweating A LOT lately though, is that causing it?

Thanks guys

Oh and when I was using the regimen he told me that it was irritating my skin, and he was right, whenever I worked out my face and neck would get REALLY stingy and when I'd run in the sun it'd get even worse. Since the past 3 days off the regimen my skin is already better in the sun and doesn't hurt at all. That's another reason why i can't use the cleanser, since it was the cause of irritation.

maybe you should use less BP if it stings your skin. I work out too but I don't have this problem when I lift weights and sweat.

or use a sunscreen so the sun won't directly hit your face lol

Cetaphil doesn't lather. You use it just like any other cleanser; just dispense one pump of product into your hand, gently rub it on your face for a few seconds, then rinse it off. I use it in the shower all the time.

u are loosing too much zinc from your sweat. Try to get it from natural sources like carrot cucumber juice/pumpkin seed oil. Instead of gym u can do harcore yoga like headstand, shoulder stand etc. to reduce stress.

if you want a face wash that lathers- try Purpose. It works and is really gentle. I also use the Neoclear (ulta stores carry it). It feels awesome! It slightly tingles and warms because it is oxgenated but it also has vitamins A E D and C plus antioxidants. And I can use it before using my Ziana without adverse side affects.

Erm, what makes drugstore cleansers foam and lather 99% of the time is Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. Which is good for me, but not so great for you if you have sensitive skin that is prone to inflammation. Actually the foaming action has no relevance whatsoever as to how effective a cleanser is. It's just for 'show' - people are led to believe that if something doesn't foam, it isn't any good. Almost all products that are sulphate free won't foam or lather.

Your dermatologist has strange suggestions, I have to say...bar cleansers/soaps are full of unnecessary waxes that are more likely to clog your pores. The reason your skin is burning when you sweat/exercise outside is because BP makes skin around 5x as sensitive to the sun - wear sunscreen! A good dermatologist would have told you to wear SPF 15 at least, and not that you stop the regimen.
