The new BP is just smaller particles so it doesn't make sense that this would happen. You want to look for other variables that might have caused this like wearing a hat or some kind of irritation.
But, regardless. Remember that The Regimen is about the process, and not just about products. You can use any 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide with The Regimen so if you'd like to try another, that's fine.
Dan,
respectfully, how are you not noticing that people are not responding well to this new formula?
of all people- you should know that acne is devastating for so many and when you find something that works, you never want it to go away.
why would you make it go away for us? And start changing it up? And then when we tell you the results you say it has to be something else?
please explain? Im at a loss at your response. Were literally TELLING YOU its not working.
I wish I could make everyone happy! It's so hard! I really appreciate you wanting to support me. But my top priority is for as many people clear as possible to completely clear up. And I firmly believe that the new Treatment will help people with that. I tested it with many, many of my volunteer testers, and overall, the efficacy was much better than the old Treatment.
That's why I think it's super important to keep an open mind about what might be causing a breakout because, yes, I don't believe it's the Treatment. I hope it doesn't sound argumentative (text can come across that way sometimes), but I am trying to give it to you straight. I don't think it could be the new Treatment causing your acne flare.
But, having said that, if you absolutely are certain that it is, I encourage you to try a different 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. What's most important here is that you are clear!
I PMed you as well. Have a look please.
just wanted to update:
Daniel asked if he could talk to me on the phone to discuss my issue with the new product.
first- Ive never seen anyone care this much about my acne (even the dermatologists Ive gone to visit) and Daniel took time to listen to me on the phone.
From our conversation and his knowledge of acne, I do not believe it was the product that caused a flare up.
Daniel, thank you so much for taking time for me. And thank you for creating awesome products for us with acne.
So what was causing your flare up den?
Rosie you used a skincare product (that you are accustomed to) that was suddenly changed without making you aware, and you had a break out its okay to say whats really going on. Many of us paid Dan for a decade or more, and now were here. the gaslighting thats happening is crazy. all Ill say. Best of luck!
Unfortunately, I had to stop using the benzoyl. I went on Amazon and bought a benzoyl peroxide 5% and it cleared up my acne instantly. It stinks that I cant continue using acne.org but hopefully in the future, Dan will go back to original.
What product from Amazon did you end up switching to?
I've been doing the regimen since 2001 when I was a teenager and still doing it. Been using Dan's BP for 15 years (switched to his moisturiser in 2019 after my roche posay one started burning me - I guess they started putting niacinamide in it at that point). These products have been the only thing that's worked. I was on accutane twice. Anyway just started the new moisturiser two weeks ago and had to abandon it. Face so dry and sore and peeling. Bought cerave moisturiser for dry to very dry skin. It is a lot better than the new Dan's formula but not as good as his original formula moisturiser. My face is still sore and dry, albeit improved from the other one. Has anyone got any advice? I feel so defeated. The 3 products were a miracle cure for me. Now I feel so lost.
@marronn2 I can't recommend specific products but Cerave and Eucerin are two brands to consider. Just check they are advertised as oil free and none of the ingredients are on Dan's list of comeogenic ingredients. Clinique is another good brand but expensive. Neutrogena oil free moisturiser was great but they started added salicylic acid in recent years which you don't want to mix with BP.

Thank you for your response. Im currently using Cerave lotion for fry to very dry skin, its just not moisturising enough and my face is so tight 🙁
