I just started using Dan's jojoba oil three days ago, and I now have several white-topped pimples popping up around my face. I'd like to think that it is just the bacteria coming out, and that they'll be gone in a few days. Is jojoba oil supposed to make you break out when you first start using it, then clear up??? I think I like it, and maybe I just need to use less at first? Is the breaking out normal???
Thanks for your help!!!
I have never experienced Jojoba causing a breakout. I love the stuff.
The thing to keep in mind, is that you have acne and random whiteheads can popup at any time. The tendency is, to put it down to a new product. However, it's often likely we'd have broken out anyway.
I'm sure the whiteheads will disappear just as quickly as they popped up.
I have seen some people on the forum complain about jojoba that it causes breakouts for them.
It's not suppose to, but you could be like other people, jojoba oil does not clog pores so I don't think it's a cause of whiteheads if anything.
Why not stop using it for a few days and see if there is improvement?
Thanks guys. I guess I just usually do NOT have this many whiteheads on my face, so I got worried:) I think I'll try lightening up the amount of jojoba oil and see if it helps a little bit. I agree that white heads are usual for acne prone, like me:), but like I said, I don't usually have this many all at one time. I really hope I'm not sensitive to it, because I have noticed a lot less flakiness on my face. Thanks agian!
I've been googling and reading a lot about Jojoba oil and whether it causes breakouts or not. Seems like there is so much misconception on the internet. Everyone isn't sure whether it's a purging, putting to much of the stuff causing whitehead or they just assume their allergic to it etc etc... I've seen this question like a million times.
You should give most products a good trial period before giving up on them, lots of things can cause negetive reactions at first then clear up quickly and be only good for you, especially natural products like jojoba oil.
Check out this article [Removed] it should tell you a bit more about why jojoba oil is good for acne and how it can help clear you up. Enjoy!
Jojoba Oil is a cleansing oil. If you use a slight amount, like a few drops on your fingertips and then massage it into an affected area, you can actually feel it lifting the heads from the surface of the skin. I use it on my back and I don't breakout anymore. I use a little after shower, no soap on my back either and the oils just mix real well together. It will purge your pores initially though, just keep using it. Take 50mg of Zinc a day too and it will boost the healing.
