Ive tried many diets and have such a hard time sticking to it, I'm nowhere close to overweight I'm quite thin but it wasn't until recently that I realized diet does effect acne tremendously.
I was just wondering how long it takes for people to breakout after eating foods such as dairy, sugar or anything just really unhealthy.
Ive realized that it actually takes a few days and rarely I will go to bed and wake up with many new pimples after going completely crazy with bad food. I think my breakouts slowly comes on after one day and is the worst the second day after and then slowly I get some breakouts and then they start to subside to regular breakouts and not insane waking up with like 2 new pimples everyday. So the breakout comes on slowly after the food, and leaves slow which is so frustrating. I also think that its not necessary the food but just the fact that it severely messes up my hormones and causes them to be insane until I return to my healthy diet where my skin is still not clear but probably would be if I would just stick to the diet.
I was wondering if anyone has similar experiences?

i normally see a delayed reaction, sometimes 2 days later after drinking/eating something which will trigger a breakout.

thanks for replying, and I guess I'm the same as well. I thought it would show within 24 hours for some reason. Have you been able to clear your skin with a good diet?

i have a bit of an addiction to sugar. when i keep off the sweets and fizzy drinks, ive noticed my skin stops producing so much sebum and the redness subsides.

(imo fizzy drinks also dehydrate the skin)

i try and balance my diet with vitamins - vitamin c, d & zinc.. which helps a bit.
