I have read some postsabout oelic acid would be very bad for acne sufferer. As olive oil is rich in oelic acid - should we avoid it?

A month ago I started to consume around 2 tablespoons of olive oil a day with food (but I don't cook with it).
I got a big breakout 2 weeks ago - maybe olive oil is the reason? But unfortunately I also break out from coconut oil so with which oil should I go?

Hi there,

Are you asking regarding adding olive oil to your diet?

If so, olive oil is actually quite beneficial to consume, particularly for acne.

Olive oil is high in omega-3 fatty acids, which are anti-inflammatory in nature - not only that, but omega 3 helps to balance dry or oily skin so will be a great ingredient to add to your diet (using raw is preferable as not to destroy the nutrients with heat - you can use olive oil and lemon juice as an easy but tasty salad dressing, or pour a bit over your cooked veggies for extra flavour!) Many of us suffering with acne will have an essential fatty acid deficiency.

I hope this helps. :)
