After browsing this forum for a few weeks, I thought I might have a histamine intolerance... But a lot of "symptoms" I have also seem like I might have a hormonal imbalance.
I'm just thinking... I've been eating, for example tomato products all my life. I never had acne as a teenager. Is it possible to develop the histamine intolerance once you get older? Because it seems strange how something that never caused me acne before, does now. I cut out all tomato products from my diet 2 months ago. I guess my acne got a tiny bit better after that. But I also eliminated strawberries and citrus fruit at the same time. And I pretty much never ate citrus fruit, and not many strawberries during my teenage years, when I didn't have acne. But as mentioned, I've been eating tomato products all my life. Around 2 weeks ago I cut out spinach from my diet, and my skin improved quite much, but I still do get a few breakouts. And spinach is something I've been eating regularly for only 1,5 years. That's also approximately for how long my acne has been at it's worse. So if it's really histamine intolerance, I guess I can toleratesome of the foods? Idk. I need to try eating tomatoes again and see, but I'm still wondering if it's possible to develop the intolerance, or if you're born with it?
And because I've cut out sooooo many fruits and veggies, (well I think that's the reason) I feel so drained and fatigued. Kinda sick. I felt much healthier on the inside when I ate lots of tomato and spinach etc.. Now I pretty much only eat lettuce, carrots, zucchini and kale. Mostly lettuce because it's the easiest. I have IBS so most "low histamine" fruits and veggies I can't eat due to my IBS. Blueberries are the only think low histamine and stomach friendly fruit I can eat... So I really hope my acne isn't due to histamine intolerance. But the next time I go to the doctor I will ask about this and also a test for hormonal imbalance.
I struggle with histamine intolerance as well, though less and less as I fix my body more and more.
Yes, to answer your question, it is absolutely something that can just come about all of a sudden, and it can be the the result of a few root problems--the most likely of which is a leaky gut and/or some adjunct gut infection/dysbiosis/parasites. And you're right, if you've progressed to the point of histamine intolerance, your hormones will also very likely have been impacted via the liver system. Unfortunately (despite the wishful thinking of conventional doctors), our bodies are not composed of separate, distinct, isolated systems---it's all connected by a series of axis lines, and since on a cellular level, we are technically more bacteria than we are human, the origin of bodily dysfunction tends more often than not to be a dysbiosis of that bacteria.
Based on the symptomology you've described in your posts so far, I would be very surprised if in addition to a leaky gut, the anxieties/phobias, IBS and histamine intolerance were not also connected to some SIBO, and quite possibly some other fungal overgrowth, maybe even some mercury toxicity?--all of this is incredibly taxing on your HPA axis, and when left untreated for long enough, will result in a greater domino effect of disease/dysfunction
Have you even had any functional testing done?

No, I haven't had any testing done recently. But I've been suspecting a leaky gut. I'm gonna talk to the doctor and try to investigate this.
