I think it has the highest CFU of any probiotic brand, 450 billion per sachet.
It actually stopped any new breakouts for me for about a week, reduced inflammation massively, so stupidly I thought it would keep working even though I had gone back to eating poorly because back then the only reason I was eating healthy was because it was helping my acne, so I thought all of my problems had gone as long as I keep taking a sachet a day... I was wrong. I guess the initial hit of probiotics was enough to temporarily fight off some bad bacteria or heal my gut for a period before the unhealthy diet just unraveled any healing that had taken place. I have never been able to replicate that initial clearing effect again, I think I need to keep addressing diet first then use probiotics as a final blow to bad bacterial growth or for final healing boost to the gut lining. but the fact initial clearing took place indicates to me that my situation is gut based. there is defiantly some connection between skin and gut for me.
i've grown my own kefir grains, i've also tried several types of soil based organisms, s. boulardi and various store brands. i can find NO correlation between probiotics and skin clearance. (but since my digestion is messed up, i still take them). growing kefir grains is by far the cheapest.
going through an elimination diet to find offending foods worked for me. taking probiotics and eating those offending foods still gives me acne.
