Not going to bore you with my skin history but I will say I have been on accutane and it did clear my skin for a few month but the acne eventually came back, but not as bad.
Anyway I had an intolerance test done about a year ago and it said I was intolerant to cows milk and yeast. So I did the candida diet for a while but it still didn't clear my skin up fully, it did help though. But I found out the foods i can eat and not break out. These are: quinoa, rye bread (yeast and wheat free), chicken, turkey, coconut oil, coconut milk, olive oil, 100% buckwheat products, peppers, most green vegtables and maybe brown rice but need to test this one more. Now as you can see its not a lot but it keeps me clear and sane (kinda). I'm sure there's a few other things I can eat and not break out from but for now this is what I eat if I want clear skin. You can argue the case about diet and food but I know it effects me but I want to know why. I want to treat myself but everytime I do it breaks me out then I regret it after. Anyway if anyone has any help I'd appreciate it, thanks!
I have an opinion. Because if I eat the wrong foods, I will have a bunch of whiteheads in a less than two hours. So I believe the cause is bacteria in the small intestine. I believe it is the wrong bacteria in the small intestine that is sending a signal, and the immune system responds. Unfortunately, the immune response is to cause the skin on the face to start feeding the bacteria that lives on the face. Which results in acne. That is why killing bacteria on the face does not stop new acne.
In the world of Dermatology there is a thought that oral antibiotics are not really killing the acne on the skin (because it is very difficult for an oral antibiotic to get to the skin. Instead the oral antibiotics are anti-inflammatory.
"While antibiotics can kill the bacteria associated with acne, it's their anti-inflammatory effects, not their antimicrobial effects, that yield the biggest skin-clearing benefits." http://medicalxpress.com/news/2016-03-acne-treatmentantibiotics-dont-bacteria-skin.html
This is my opinion. I think the oral antibiotics are working as they are supposed to, the antibiotics are killing select bacteria in the small intestine. And therefore the immune system is not stimulated.
Hey Crispello,
I'm going to anwer a few questions based on my knowledge:
Why are quinoa, rye bread and oatmeal good foods?
Most of the people don't know this but actually the majority of population cannot digest gluten properly.
Gluten are a type of protein. It's not digested well in the gut and causes inflammation of the gutwall. Which has a bad effect on the acne.
Minimalise wheat-products in your diet is the key. Try eating oatmeal for breakfast, it keeps you full for hours and keeps you fit.
Mostly eat brown rice and potatoes as source of carbohydrates.
Chicken and turkey:
This meat is easily digested and doesn't contain much fat at all. Keep eating these and don't eat too much red meat, or it will be carcinogen (causes cancercells)
Coconutoil:
It's still quite a bit of a disscusion wether this is good for the skin or not. Well coconut (oil) contains a lot of saturated fat, that's basically not healthy. It's also not liquid in room temperature, that's an easy indicator for saturated fat.
Keep rocking olive oil though!
Green Vegetables:
Vegetables are overall way underrated. they are a great source of anti-oxidants, vitamines and minerals.
Eat all least 300 grams/ 10 ounce a day.
Try steaming your veggies and potatoes, you will lose less vitamins through osmose.
(osmose: transportation of water due to difference in particle density)
I hoped this helped you a bit!
Peace,

You can clear your skin by eating many things. You have to limit or I would recommend avoiding dairy products including cheese, cow's milk, ice cream. Limit sugar intake as sugar causes inflammation which can be seen in the skin.
The key when buying food is to stick to whole foods, foods that haven't been too processed that have small ingredient lists. Green leafy vegetables, sweet potatoes, nuts/seeds (avoid peanuts), avocados, salmon, chicken, turkey, many vegetables- these are just a few examples of things you can eat.
Limit gluten/wheat as gluten can be hard for many people to digest.
Increase your fiber intake. Good digestion, whole foods, low inflammation in the body = clear skin.
I hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions

thank you. Are there any foods that specifically fight inflammatory acne?

Yes plenty, green leafy vegetables because of the vitamins, phytochemicals, and minerals it contains helps to fight inflammation. Many vegetables, fatty fish with omega-3 fish oil, sweet potatoes, ginger, berries, and many more. There are herbs and supplements that are also useful for fight inflammation as well.
