Hello! I wonder about what type of zinc you guys that have tested it took. How long did it take before results showed? I have heard that you should avoid zinc sulfate but it sounds like bullshit. I'm on a pretty tight budget sa I wonder if it is best with (for maximum effect and results) with 25mg zink sulfate daily, or 25mg zink gluconate and zink picolinate, or 15mg zinc citrate.

Which of these types is the best and which is the worst, if I had too choose?

In regards to biological availability for the treatment of acne vulgaris, worrying about what organic bond constitutes the most effective introduction of zinc shouldn't be your priority.

Zinc is generally zinc once it is utilized at the cellular level. I've read of studies suggesting that zinc sulfate showed a lower bio availability in comparison to other zinc salts in various organic acid bonds. ( http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16684142 < here is the study>) I personally use zinc gluconate or zinc picolinate. I wouldn't waste my time with researching the pharmacokinetics of zinc salt and the respecting organic/inorganic structures.

The only thing that could possibly disrupt the absorption of zinc would be a high consumption of calcium rich foods. However I use possibly with a lot of emphasis in the sentence. Zinc and calcium interact with the same sites associated with absorption and subsequent metabolism, but the studies that have been quotes created an environment that is typically not reproduced in the average human being. Also, the results weren't 100% conclusive and only described a possible interaction. Study here>>> http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3584729

P.S- If you for some reason you want to read the full study I can provide it for you. I have access to pubmed through school.
